About 2024 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament Selection Sunday

Starting today, 68 teams will remain in the quest for a national championship, and it all starts on Selection Sunday. South Carolina, Iowa, Stanford, and USC are projected to occupy the four No. 1 seeds in the tournament, but as we’ve seen in recent years, anything can happen in March Madness, so a lower-seeded automatic qualifier can quickly become a Cinderella as upsets are inevitable.

Women’s basketball at all levels has seen a dramatic rise in attention in recent years, helped in no small part by the dominance of Iowa’s Caitlin Clark. Earlier this season, the senior guard became the all-time leading scorer in major college basketball history first passing Washington’s Kelsey Plum and then LSU’s Pete Maravich. Will she be able to carry the Hawkeyes back to the national championship game? Or will Dawn Staley’s South Carolina Gamecocks cut down the nets for the second time in three years?

Only time will tell, but we will have a much clearer picture of what each road looks like later today.
