About the 2024 World Series of Poker Main Event
The 2023 WSOP Main Event saw a record 10,043 entrants as Daniel Weinman claimed the gold bracelet and $12.1 million prize for besting the largest field in poker history. Through the first five weeks of the World Series, many of the biggest tournaments have seen record fields, so it is possible that the 2024 Main Event could break last year’s mark.
Coming into the Main Event some of the biggest names in poker are sitting atop the Player of the Year leaderboard. With three tournament wins this year — tying him for the most ever in a single World Series — Scott Seiver is currently in the lead, followed closely by such marquee names as Jeremy Ausmus, Chris Hunichen, Phil Ivey, Bryce Yockey, Daniel Negreanu, John Racener, Robert Mizrachi, and Shaun Deeb in the top 12. A deep run for any of these players could vault them up to the top of the PotY rankings.
PokerGO will provide extensive coverage of the World Series of Poker Main Event for two weeks spanning from Day 1A until a world champion is crowned. For the first 12 days, PokerGO will provide two broadcasting windows. The first will start earlier in the evening with the second picking up after the players’ dinner break.
