How to Watch ‘Bookie’ Series Premiere on Apple TV, Fire TV, Roku & Mobile

The legalization of sports betting has been a fun way for some sports fans to express their fandom. But what about the bookies who made their mark when gambling on sports was still illegal? That’s what Max’s new dark comedy series “Bookie,” which debuts on Thursday, Nov. 30, is all about; a bookmaker in a world where there soon won’t be any reason for him to exist. You can watch Bookie: Season 1 with a subscription to Max.

About ‘Bookie’ Series Premiere

Danny has been a successful bookie in Los Angeles for years. But when California voters approve the legalization of sports betting, Danny sees very plainly that he’ll soon be out of a job. Not content to sit on his hands while his world crashes down around him, Danny sets out to collect the last of the debts that he’s owed from his clients, and uses their money to make a few wagers of his own.

Former NFL player Ray, sister Lorraine and reluctantly-reformed drug dealer friend Hector are all on the journey with Danny, but if he wants to swindle his way back up to the top in this topsy-turvey world he’ll have to do the bulk of the work himself. There’ll be plenty of relatable missteps for Danny along the way, but it’s unwise to bet against him.
