It’s the battle of Ohio when the Cincinnati Bengals host the Cleveland Browns from Paycor Stadium on Sunday, Jan. 7 with kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m. ET on CBS. The Browns (11-5) have put together an impressive 4-1 run since quarterback Joe Flacco joined the roster, clinching a wildcard spot, and are now locked into a playoff position. The Bengals (8-8), meanwhile, were eliminated from the playoffs last week with their 25-17 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Quarterback Jake Browning has been leading the team since Joe Burrow went down with a season-ending injury in Week 11 against the Ravens, and he’ll be looking to end the season on a high note. Favorite Spread Over/Under Cleveland Score Prediction
Cincinnati -7.5 (+100) 37.5 Cleveland 24, Cincinnati 20

Cincinnati comes in as the favorite at home, in part because the Browns will likely sit many of their key players. Joe Flacco will rest up for the playoffs, meaning 30-year-old Jeff Driskel will make his Cleveland debut after coming over from the Cardinals practice squad. This is the second meeting of the season between these two teams. The first one was back in week one, where the Browns dominated that game 24-3 propelled by Deshaun Watson’s performance. Cincinnati leads the head-to-head series by a hair, 52-48.

Total Yards Allowed 6,124 4,265

For a team that started off the year as a Super Bowl favorite and is ending it outside the playoff picture, it’s not all bad for the 8-8 Bengals. After losing Joe Burrow (the highest-paid player in the NFL) to injury, Jake Browning has held his own over eight games, putting up 1,780 passing yards with 9 touchdowns and 6 interceptions, and completing 69.9 percent of his passes. Joe Mixon is having a solid year, too, rushing for 923 yards (No. 12 in the NFL), while Ja’Marr Chase leads the team in receiving yards with 1,197 (No. 11 in the league).

Meanwhile, the Cleveland Browns regular season will be remembered by Joe Flacco’s improbable run to lead the Browns to the postseason. In five starts, Flacco has gone 123-for-204, racking up 1,616 yards, 13 touchdowns, and eight interceptions over the 4-1 run. He’s had help from Jerome Ford, who leads the team with 807 rushing yards, as well as WR Amari Cooper, who ranks 8th in receiving yards with 1,250. Many of the Browns star players are likely to sit this game out, though, in preparation for the playoffs.

Cincinnati and Cleveland Quarterback Matchup:

Jeff Driskel Cleveland 14 20 70.0 108 5.4 1 0 99.6

While the season is almost over, Jake Browning seems to just be getting started. In his historic game against the Jaguars, he went 32-for-37, an 86.5% completion rate that ranked as the highest in NFL history for a quarterback making his second career start. In that game, he tossed for 354 yards and one touchdown, with no interceptions, and was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 13.

At the other end of the field, Jeff Driskel starts in place of Joe Flacco. This is the first start for the 30-year-old this year, and he’ll be looking to showcase his talents with the hope of securing the backup QB job for the playoffs. Driskel is 14-for-20 on the season, tossing for 108 yards, one touchdown, and no interceptions.
