In “Fellow Travelers,” Matt Bomer and Jonathan Bailey will take on a trio of indestructible forces: love, religion, and politics. The duo lead the cast of the Showtime’s adaptation of Thomas Mallon’s novel of the same name, spanning four decades in its eight episodes. The new series, equal parts epic love story and political thriller, will premiere on Friday, Oct. 27, on streaming and on-demand for all Showtime and Paramount+ with Showtime subscribers before making its on-air debut on Showtime this Sunday, October 29 at 9:00 p.m. ET. Adapted for TV by Ron Nyswaner (“Philadelphia,” “Homeland”), “Fellow Travelers” is based on the novel by Thomas Mallon and stars Matt Bomer as the charismatic Hawkins Fuller, who maintains a financially rewarding, behind-the-scenes career in politics and who avoids emotional entanglements… until he meets Tim Laughlin (Jonathan Bailey), a young man brimming with both idealism and religious faith. The two begin a clandestine romance, just as Joseph McCarthy and Roy Cohn declare war on “subversives and sexual deviants.”

The series also follows Jelani Alladin as Marcus, Allison Williams as Lucy, and Noah J. Ricketts as Frankie in co-lead roles as they, Hawkins, and Tim cross paths throughout “the Vietnam War protests of the 1960s, the drug-fueled disco hedonism of the 1970s and the AIDS crisis of the 1980s while facing obstacles in the world and within themselves.”
