Betting Lines

Favorite Spread Over/Under Las Vegas Score Prediction
Las Vegas -2.5 (-125) 37 Las Vegas 23, Denver 19

Las Vegas comes in as the slight favorite at home. They’ve beaten the spread nine times in 16 games this season, and carry a 2-2 record against the spread when favored by 2.5 points or more. For the Broncos, their record against the spread this season is 6-9-1, and they are 3-4 as 2.5-point or bigger underdogs. The Broncos also have a chance to end their streak of seven consecutive losses to the Raiders, and if they manage it, it would give them their first winning season since 2016.

Team Stats

Statistic Denver Las Vegas
Points Scored per Game 21.4 19.1
Points Allowed per Game 24.1 19.8
Total Yards Gained 4,786 4,563
Total Yards Allowed 5,944 5,339

The Raiders, led by interim coach Antonio Pierce, come in with a 7-9 record. While they won’t make the playoffs, there are a lot of positives, including big contributions from wide receiver Davante Adams, who has 1,098 receiving yards from 98 receptions, and running back Joshua Jacobs who has racked up 805 rushing yards and six touchdowns. Quarterback Aidan O’Connell has passed for 1,974 yards with 10 touchdowns. On defense, Maxx Crosby has been impressive with 88 tackles, 21.0 TFL, and 13.5 sacks this season. The Raiders have been better defensively of late, allowing 15.3 points per game in their last four outings.

The Broncos, under coach Sean Payton, will need to tighten up defensively for a shot at a winning season. They’ve allowed 25.7 points against in their last three games, above their season average. Maybe they need to draw on memories of Dec. 29, 2019 - the last time the Broncos beat Las Vegas by a tight score of 16-15. Expect another close game, as three of the past four meetings between these two teams were decided by just one possession.

Denver and Las Vegas Quarterback Matchup:

QB Team CMP ATT CMP% YDS AVG TD INT RTG
Jarrett Stidham Denver 20 32 62.5 224 7.0 1 0 93.8
Aiden O’Connell Las Vegas 193 312 61.9 1,974 6.3 10 7 81.3

Jarrett Stidham gets the start for Denver in place of Russell Wilson, who sits this game out despite ranking No. 6 in the NFL with 26 touchdowns. Coach Sean Payton clearly liked Stidham’s performance against the Chargers last week enough to warrant starting him again. Stidham went 20-for-32 (62.5 percent), throwing for 224 yards, one TD, and no interceptions in the 16-9 win.

At the other end of the field, Aiden O’Connell and the Raiders are probably still stung from their 23-20 loss against the Colts last week that eliminated them from the playoffs. In that game, O’Connell went 30-for-47, tossing for 299 yards (one yard short of what would have been his first 300-yard performance) and two touchdowns without an interception.
