With Joe Burrow out for the season with a torn ligament in his throwing wrist, backup quarterback Jake Browning holds the Bengals postseason chances in his hands. Browning will rely on a strong receiving unit to help him succeed in the likes of Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Tyler Boyd. So far this year, he’s 106-144, tossing for 1,248 yards and seven touchdowns. He’s coming off a huge 27-24 overtime win against Minnesota that saw him go 29-for-42, tossing for 324 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.
At the other end of the field, it will probably be Mason Rudolph leading the Steelers offense as Kenny Pickett continues to recover from ankle surgery, though Pickett is not ruled out. If Rudolph gets the green light, this will be his first start of the season. The Steelers have been relying on Mitch Trubisky recently, who struggled mightily in his last two starts against the Patriots and the Colts. Pittsburgh lost 21-18 against New England, then 30-13 against Indianapolis.
