About ‘RuPaul's Drag Race’ Season 16 Premiere

Ringing in its 15th anniversary, the Emmy Award-winning reality competition series documents the search for “America’s next drag superstar,” as host, mentor, and superstar drag queen/queen of drag RuPaul puts a collection of queens to the test with a series of challenges each week, from fashion to performance.

The panel of judges includes RuPaul, long-time co-judge Michelle Visage, a rotating third member (typically Ross Matthews, Carson Kressley, or Ts Madison), and a weekly special guest judge. This season’s guest judges will include Charlize Theron, Becky G, Isaac Mizrahi, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Adam Shankman, Icona Pop, Jamal Sims, Joel Kim Booster, Kelsea Ballerini, Kyra Sedgwick, Law Roach, Kaia Gerber, Ronan Farrow, and Mayan Lopez

This season’s premiere will reportedly be split into two parts with two Maxi Challenge talent shows, one MTV Spring Break-themed and one featuring the “Queen Choice Awards.” Following the talent show performances, the queens will be asked to rank each other’s routines to determine who’s in the top and who’s in the bottom for the first-ever “Rate-A-Queen.”

Like last season, the queens of Season 16 will compete for a cash prize of $200,000.
