About ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ Season 18 Premiere

The new season of “So You Think You Can Dance” will infuse the long-running hit with an updated format, designed to reflect the real-life experience of building a career as a dancer. In every episode, the dancers will face new, challenging styles that will give them insight into what their careers could bring them.

At the end of the episode, the judging panel will decide who remains and who moves on. The season’s top three dancers will compete in the season’s finale for the $100,000 grand prize and the title of “So You Think You Can Dance” champion.

In addition to the incredible artistry and numbers that the show is famous for, this season will follow the dancers throughout the competition as they experience the ups and downs of the process while they learn about who they are as artists and individuals. This documentary-style approach will reveal the physical and emotional struggles that come with the competition and a life in dance, as well as the new relationships, personality clashes, and everything else that comes with the high-pressure world of the show.

As “So You Think You Can Dance” moves into this new format, it will have a primarily new judging panel as well. Returning will be dancer and social media star JoJo Siwa, and she will be joined by “SYTYCD” All-Star and Emmy-nominated choreographer Allison Holker and “Dancing with the Stars” alum Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Cat Deeley will return to host as well.
