Billy Joel has been playing concerts at Madison Square Garden since Dec. 14, 1978 and every single one of them — through July’s residency finale — have been sellouts. The music of Billy Joel is as synonymous with New York as that of Frank Sinatra, so for fans to have the opportunity to see The Piano Man playing in his hometown is special. This will be Billy Joel’s first concert to ever air on a broadcast network.

For the special event, filmed on March 28, Billy welcomed Sting to the stage and the pair of music icons performed “Big Man on Mulberry Street” and “Every Little Thing She Does is Magic.” Also making a special appearance was Jerry Seinfeld who helped Joel raise a banner into the MSG rafter to commemorate his unprecedented run.
