How to Watch the 2023 World Series in 4K

The 2023 World Series is set! Either the Arizona Diamondbacks or Texas Rangers will become world champions following the conclusion of the series. The final battle begins on Friday, Oct. 27 at 8:03 p.m. ET. Both teams made it out of the wild card round and pushed all the way through to the Fall Classic, but only one can walk away with the MLB crown.

Ultra-High-Definition 4K is the ideal way to watch live sports. The 3,840 x 2,160 pixel resolution of 4K broadcasts offers unparalleled detail and screen contrast, so fans always know exactly what’s going on during a game. The best news is, the 2023 World Series will be broadcast by Fox, which means live TV streaming services that support 4K content will have the series in UHD for fans to enjoy.

Which Live TV Streamers Allow Users to Watch in 4K?

There are five live TV services that carry Fox in at least some markets in the United States, but only three of these will allow you to watch the World Series in 4K. The first is DIRECTV STREAM, which makes 4K sporting events available on channel 105. The service doesn’t require any additional purchases to watch 4K content; users can access it on the $74.99-per-month Entertainment plan with no add-ons needed.

DIRECTV STREAM features a five-day free trial for new customers, so you’ll be able to watch Game 1 of the series at no cost. The streamer is also offering new subscribers $10 off per month for their first three months of service, a $30 total value. DIRECTV STREAM is our top pick for watching the 2023 World Series in 4K through a live TV streaming platform.

Fubo carries 4K sporting events as well, but users have to upgrade to an Elite or above level plan to access it. Fubo’s Elite plan starts at $84.99 per month, but the regional sports network fee that 98% of subscribers will have to pay will bump that cost up to $95.98. Fubo customers also get a free trial, though how long it is depends on what part of the month you sign up in. The Fubo Elite plan includes MLB Network in its channel lineup, for fans who need expert analysis on the World Series as well as live games in 4K.

YouTube TV starts at $72.99 per month, and carries Fox in most markets. But you’ll need the 4K Plus add-on to watch any content in 4K. That add-on also allows YouTube TV customers to stream their subscription on unlimited devices simultaneously.

Do You Need a Pay TV Subscription to Watch the World Series in 4K?

Yes, but you don’t need a 4K-equipped plan to do it! If you subscribe to just the base plans of Fubo, YouTube TV, or another service that requires you to pay more to watch in 4K, you can log into the Fox Sports app with your TV Everywhere credentials instead to stream games in UHD that way.

What Equipment Do You Need to Stream the World Series in 4K?

To watch the World Series in UHD glory in 2023, you’ll need a TV capable of 4K resolution, as well as a streaming device/over-the-air antenna capable of receiving 4K signals. Check out your options below!
