About ‘The Girls on the Bus’ Premiere
“The Girls on the Bus” centers on Sadie McCarthy (played by Melissa Benoist), a journalist who, caught up romanticizing the bygone era of political campaign reporting, scraps her present life for a shot at covering a presidential candidate for a major paper. On the bus, Sadie bonds with three female competitors—-Grace (Carla Gugino), Lola (Natasha Behnam), and Kimberlyn (Christina Elmore)—-with different personalities and styles, becoming a found family as they watch history unfold.
In addition to Benoist, Gugino, Behnam, and Elmore, the cast also includes Brandon Scott, Griffin Dunne, Mark Consuelos, and Scott Foley, among others.
The new Max Original political drama was created by Amy Chozick and Julie Plec and inspired by Chozick’s experiences as a political reporter on the campaign bus with multiple presidential candidates, including Hillary Clinton, detailed in her 2018 memoir “Chasing Hillary.”
