Nine years after Robert Durst’s shocking hot mic confession in “The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst” rocked the world (and the true-crime genre), the case continues. HBO is set to premiere “The Jinx: Part Two,” a six-episode continuation to the groundbreaking, Emmy-winning documentary series that will walk viewers through the eight years of investigation that followed its finale as the filmmakers uncover hidden and new material (including Durst’s prison calls) and interview witnesses who had not come forward until now. Produced and directed by Part One’s Andrew Jarecki, “The Jinx: Part Two” will premiere on Sunday, April 21, at 10 p.m. ET on HBO and will be available to stream on Max at that time. You can watch with a subscription to Max.
About ‘The Jinx: Part Two’
The Emmy Award-winning 2015 HBO documentary series “The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst” gets a six-episode follow-up nine years after Part One’s shocking conclusion, as real estate billionaire Robert Durst was arrested hours before the final episode aired and viewers watched as he unexpectedly confessed to the murder of his first wife Kathie Durst and longtime friend Susan Berman while hooked to a hot mic, unraveling and escalating one of the most notorious unsolved criminal cases.
“The Jinx - Part Two” sees the filmmakers continue their investigation from 2015’s finale up until Durst’s 2022 death, bringing to light new and previous hidden material, including interviews from Durst’s associates who had never before come forward, Durst’s jail phone calls to friends, family, and lawyers; and video footage of the interrogation room post-arrest.
The six new episodes will also feature interviews with participants including prosecution and defense lawyers, jurors, trial judge Judge Mark Windham, and friends and associates of both Durst and his victims.
In addition to the six-episode continuation, HBO and Max have also launched “The Official Jinx Podcast” available to stream on Max and all major podcast platforms which will look back on the development of Part One and cover Part Two in-season weekly “with behind-the-scenes moments, clips from the cutting room floor, and real-time updates on the ongoing events and players involved in the case.”
