About 'The Power of Film'

Each episode of “The Power of Film” will be around 40 minutes long, and each will cover a different topic within the greater context of cinema. Founding chair of UCLA’s Film and Television Producers Program, and one of the founders of the UCLA Film Archive Howard Suber will serve as host of the program, lending his decades of expertise in the study of movies to the already-distinguished series.

“The Power of Film” will feature more than 50 iconic scenes from 17 classic films, as Suber analyzes and dissects why they have carved out such a significant space in the American memory.

“I am honored to have our series shown on TCM, surrounded by 17 of the most memorable American films, nearly all of which I discuss in depth in the series,” says Howard Suber. “TCM’s commitment to the history of American films has always been remarkable.”
