About ‘The Way Home’ Season 2 Premiere

Andie MacDowell, Chyler Leigh, Sadie Laflamme-Snow, Alex Hook, and Evan Williams star in this unique time-traveling series that focuses on how three generations of women overcome the losses of their shared pasts while attempting to reconnect in the present.

In the first season, Kat Landry (Leigh) and her teenage daughter Alice (Laflamme-Snow) move back to Kat’s family farm in Canada after she finds herself at a personal and professional crossroads. Her relationship with her mother Del (MacDowell) has been fractured for decades following the still-unsolved disappearance of Kat’s eight-year-old brother Jacob, and the death of her father shortly thereafter.

After returning home, Alice accidentally discovers that she can travel back to the late 1990s through a pond on her grandmother’s land. While in the past, she becomes her teenage mother’s best friend and becomes determined to figure out what happened to her uncle Jacob. When Kat discovers what her daughter has been up to, she follows her to the past and sees her brother for the first time in decades. Alice and Kat become committed to saving Jacob, but that proves to be more difficult than they imagined.

The second season of “The Way Home” begins right where the first ended as Kat tells Del that she knows what happened to Jacob and that she is going to bring him home. However, the new season brings just as many surprises and revelations as the first as this family must ultimately contend with even more unanswered questions and unresolved emotions.
