About ‘Tokyo Vice' Season 2 Premiere

The second season of Max drama series “Tokyo Vice” debuts with two episodes on Thursday, Feb. 8, followed by one new episode weekly for eight weeks. Set and shot on the streets of Tokyo, the story follows two men who risk their lives to bring down the Yakuza crime families. Created and written by Tony Award winner J.T. Rogers, the series stars Golden Globe nominee Ansel Elgort as journalist Jake Adelstein and Academy Award nominee Ken Watanabe as Japanese detective Hiroto Katagiri.

Season 2 follows Adelstein — a fish out of water American trying his best to do his job while facing intense cultural barriers — as he digs deeper into Tokyo city’s criminal underworld. Working alongside Detective Katagiri, the new season expands the story with new cast members, including Yosuke Kubozuka and Miki Maya, and provides a closer look at the personal lives of the show’s main characters.
