Loud, obtuse anxieties invade Aza’s brain every day and in nearly all situations, and to make matters worse she’s only 17 years old. Can she learn how to live with her fears and grow, despite the nagging voice inside her head telling her she’s not good enough? You can watch Turtles All the Way Down with a subscription to Max.
About ‘Turtles All the Way Down’
“Turtles All the Way Down” sheds new light on the issue of anxiety, through the eyes of 17-year-old Aza Holmes (Isabela Merced). There are a lot of pressures on Aza, and she’s diligently trying to juggle them all. Throughout her day, her brain constantly bombards her with worries that she’s not a good enough student, a substandard friend and a failure as a daughter.
When Aza reconnects with her childhood crush Davis, the problem becomes more acute. Now she doesn’t just have her fears about her life in general to grapple with; instead, she must confront new questions about her capacity for love, not to mention whether or not she deserves affection. Aza is as strong as any teen wracked with anxiety can be, but she faces challenges few others understand as she tries to grow and succeed in life.
