The third-oldest football club in the world just got promoted. Season Three of the Emmy Award-winning docuseries “Welcome to Wrexham,” provides unprecedented access to the football club as Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds navigate Wrexham AFC through their promotion to the English Football League (EFL) – which means more pressure, higher expectations, and a new season of football in League Two. Meanwhile, the Women’s Team is coming off an undefeated season. They moved up a league into the Welsh Adran Premier League, taking on new players and a new pitch, and hope to put together another dominating season in the league above. Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds have their work cut out for them. After purchasing the storied football club, Wrexham AFC, back in 2020, the team has taken the world of football by storm. Not only have they finally been promoted to the English Football League, but the show has garnered attention with an Emmy Award for Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program. It turns out that unprecedented access to the players, pitch, and locker room as one of the most storied franchises in football makes a comeback creates engaging television!

“Welcome to Wrexham” follows the dreams and anxieties of Wrexham, a down-to-earth city in North Wales, UK, and their storied football club – Wrexham AFC, now part of the EFL. Having battled through injury and setbacks to achieve the promotion, the Club, its owners, and its dedicated staff and supporters are ready to challenge for a top spot in the Second League.

But the Men’s Team isn’t the only squad making a name for itself – the Women’s Team is just as impressive. After an undefeated season, Wrexham AFC’s Women’s Team is now up in the Welsh Adran Premier, looking to continue their winning ways. You can watch the first two episodes of Season Three on Thursday, May 2 at 10 p.m. ET on FX, both streaming the next day on Hulu, and then a new episode each following Thursday.
