As Hope Valley moves into 1920, there will be new drama, new mysteries, and new romances for the citizens of this small Canadian town. With the start of a new season, “When Calls the Heart” is set to embark on a whole host of new adventures. Hope Valley schoolteacher Elizabeth Thornton is ready to embrace a new start and is open to a new romance, new challenges, and even some new style. Mountie Nathan Grant made his love for her known many years ago, but it has taken time for Elizabeth to reciprocate his feelings. However, the pair’s growing romantic feelings come as they both turn to each other for support as they deal with new parenting challenges, Elizabeth with her son Jack Jr. — named for her late husband — and Nathan with his niece.

As Elizabeth’s former fiance, the newly elected Governor Lucas Bouchard begins to assume his new political role, he is forced to confront his past if he ever wants to be able to embrace the strengths he must utilize in order to lead Hope Valley.

There is also a new mystery in town that is putting the entire community at risk, so retired Mountie Bill Avery and newspaper reporter Rosemary Coulter must team up to discover the truth.
