The eight-episode adaptation of Celeste Ng’s 2017 fiery bestseller “Little Fires Everywhere” is coming to Hulu March 18. Oscar-winner Reese Witherspoon (“Walk the Line,” “Big Little Lies”) and Kerry Washington (“Scandal,” “Ray”) headline the intense drama.
The streamer will screen the first three episodes at launch.
“Little Fires” depicts the intertwined lives of two families, the well-to-do Richardsons, headed by Witherspoon, and artist Kerry Washington and her daughter, who rent a modest apartment from them. The clash of money and class, as well as the dangerous secrets in both homes, finally explodes in a blaze of destruction.
The show also ratchets up the tension by exploring the nature of identity and the fierce devotion of mothers against a backdrop of growing mistrust.
The series is produced by Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine banner, Kerry Washington’s Simpson Street and ABC Signature Studios, part of Disney Television Studios.
Witherspoon also starred and produced two seasons of Apple TV+’s “The Morning Show” alongside Jennifer Aniston.
The cast includes Joshua Jackson (“The Affair”) and Rosemarie DeWitt (“Black Mirror,” “La La Land).
