Hulu Live TV is Generating More Subscription Revenue Than Sling TV, DIRECTV NOW, PlayStation Vue, & YouTube TV

According to a report from eMarketer, Hulu’s 2 million Live TV subscribers are generating nearly $1.1B in subscription revenue for the company, ahead of DIRECTV NOW which sees ~$950 million in subscription revenue from 1.5 million subscribers. This is ahead of Sling TV, who’s 2.4 million subscribers are more than any other Live TV Streaming Service, generates only ~$870 million, since they have a lower monthly subscription fee.

The report also speculates that YouTube TV’s 1 million subscribers accrues $600 million, while Playstation Vue’s ~800K subscribers, generates ~$520 million per year. Rounding out the pack is fuboTV, who is suggested to have 300K subscribers, generating $200 million in annual revenue.

Despite their higher monthly subscriptions, Live TV Streaming Services are still expected to generate less than SVOD services like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, HBO NOW, and Showtime. Netflix earned more than $7.6 billion in subscription revenue from subscribers, while Hulu and Amazon each earned ~$2.8 billion. The SVOD services associated to channels like HBO and Showtime, earned $900 million and ~$530 million respectively.
