Is ‘Bob Marley: One Love’ Streaming Now? When Will it Be Available on Paramount+?

The latest musical biopic from Paramount is in theaters now, but it may not be long before you can stream it from home.

Don’t worry Bob Marley fans, everything will be all right! A new biopic dedicated to the world-famous reggae singer is headed to theaters this week; “Bob Marley: One Love” hit cinemas in the United States on Wednesday, Feb. 14, just in time for Valentine’s day.

  • “Bob Marley: One Love” is distributed by Paramount, so it will head to Paramount+ when it leaves theaters.
  • Paramount recently agreed to a licensing deal with MGM+ guaranteeing its own films stream on Paramount+ first.
  • The Streamable predicts a short theatrical swing for the movie, bringing it to streaming sooner.

“Bob Marley: One Love” chronicles the life of Marley, the best-recognized reggae singer of all time. The movie details Marley’s struggles to achieve his fame, the issues he used his platform to advocate for, and his death at age 36 from acral lentiginous melanoma. Kingsley Ben-Adir (“Barbie,” “Secret Invasion”) portrays Bob Marley in the film, and critics are praising his performance as one of the film’s brightest aspects.

When and Where Will ‘Bob Marley: One Love’ Stream?

“Bob Marley: One Love” is being distributed by Paramount, so it’s easy to tell which streaming service will get the movie once it is finished with its theatrical run. Paramount recently agreed to a new output deal with MGM+, under the terms of which it pays Amazon to allow it to stream movies on its own platform first.

Outside of explosive action flicks helmed by Tom Cruise like “Top Gun: Maverick” and “Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning,” Paramount does not usually keep its movies in theaters for long stays. Even surprise hits like last year’s “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves” tend to stay in theaters closer to the 45-day minimum agreed to by theater chains and streaming platforms.

With that in mind, The Streamable predicts that “Bob Marley: One Love” will be available to stream on Paramount+ on Saturday, March 30. That’s 45 days from its initial release, and remains consistent with the release strategy Paramount has used on all but its biggest blockbusters.
