New ‘Bluey’ Specials Coming to Disney+ in July, Make Sure to Catch This Can’t-Miss Summer Event

‘Bluey’ has compiled billions of minutes streamed in 2024 so far, and doesn’t appear to be slowing down.

Seven Bluey "minisodes" are heading for Disney+ on July 3.

Get ready for more “Bluey,” Disney+ subscribers! The animated Blue Heeler who has captured the imagination of kids and parents around the world is bringing seven new “minisodes” to Disney+ starting next month, the first of three waves that will become available on the streamer over the course of the next year. The show is a smash-hit in the ratings, and will likely continue to be so as Disney+ presents new opportunities for watching and new formats like its upcoming minisodes.

Key Details:

  • All seven new “Bluey” minisodes will debut on Disney+ on Wednesday, July 3.
  • More “Bluey” minisodes will air on Disney+ before the end of 2024, and a third batch will arrive in 2025.
  • “Bluey” was the most-watched streaming series of all last quarter, and continues to pile up billions of streaming minutes each week.

On Wednesday, July 3, Disney+ will add a total of seven “Bluey” minisodes. These specials will be one to three minutes in length and will provide viewers with a better look at the characters and world of the show. They will specifically focus on the fun and playful interactions between Bluey and her younger sister Bingo.

All of the minisodes will arrive on Disney+ on July 3. The first two will also air on Disney Junior and Disney Channel on the same day, while the other five will drop during the “Red, White and Bluey” marathon which will take place on Disney Junior during the July 4th weekend.

The first minisode will be called “Burger Dog,” while the others will be titled “Bingo 3000,” “Muffin Unboxing,” “Letter,” “Hungry,” “Three Pigs,” and “Animals.” Fans of the series can check out a preview of “Burger Dog” above!

Will New ‘Bluey’ Specials Pile Up Streaming Minutes?

Bluey is a ratings smash-hit, and consistently compiles billions of minutes streamed every time new episodes are released.

If the past is any indication, the new “Bluey” minisodes will bring a large audience to Disney+. How large? When the streamer debuted the “Bluey” special “The Sign” in April, the episode drew 10.4 million individual views in its first seven days of availability. Nielsen’s numbers show that “Bluey” was the No. 1 most-watched series amongst all streaming platforms last quarter in terms of total U.S. viewers.

Its dominance has continued, as the most recent Nielsen Top 10 list — which measures ratings for shows in the week of May 6 through May 12 of this year — shows that “Bluey” sits behind only “The Roast of Tom Brady” and “Grey's Anatomy,” and was streamed for over 1 billion minutes during the week. The series’ streaming minutes are all the more impressive considering that most of the 150 episodes available are 10 minutes or less in runtime, proving how much of a staple the show has become for families with kids.

The wait for new “Bluey” episodes won’t be much longer, as the show will bring its first batch of new minisodes to Disney+ on July 3. Another round of specials will arrive at an unspecified date in 2024, and a third wave will arrive on Disney+ sometime in 2025.
