NFL App, NFL+ Are Now Available on VIZIO Smart TVs

Are you ready for some football, VIZIO owners? If so, you are in luck as the smart TV manufacturer announced on Thursday an expansion of its NFL content lineup with the launch of the NFL app on VIZIO Smart TVs. The league’s official app provides users access to NFL+, which means that football fans will be able to watch games, live stream NFL Network around the clock, and watch the NFL’s whiparound show NFL RedZone on Sunday afternoons.

  • The NFL’s app and subscription streaming service are now available via VIZIO WatchFree+.
  • Fans can get live access to NFL Network, NFL RedZone, select NFL games, and more.
  • VIZIO has also renewed its rights to the NFL Channel.

NFL+ will also provide VIZIO users access to live out-of-market preseason games, live local and national audio for every game, NFL Film’ archives, and more. The partnership between VIZIO and the NFL will also NFL+ subscriptions to be managed in VIZIO Account, the TV manufacturer’s subscription management service, beginning later this year.

As part of the deal, VIZIO and the NFL also renewed The NFL Channel — which is channel No. 600 on VIZIO WatchFree+, the company’s free streaming service. The channel features previous seasons of “Hard Knocks,” along with season recaps, documentaries, classic games, and more, including “NFL Game Replay,” “NFL Mic’d Up,” “NFL Top 10,” “The Top 100 Players,” and “Around the NFL.”

“We’re excited to broaden the NFL content offering, bringing even more NFL entertainment to the homes of millions of VIZIO users,” VIZIO group VP Katherine Pond said. “With the launch of the NFL app, the renewal of the NFL Channel and the on demand NFL programming lineup on WatchFree+, VIZIO continues on our path of expanding our sports programming.”

What is NFL+?

NFL+ is the football league’s subscription streaming service that provides a whole host of content on smart TVs, tablets, and phones. NFL+ allows fans to watch out-of-market preseason games on all devices, live local and primetime games on phones and tablets, as well as replays of every single game without ads, condensed game replays, and coaches’ film. The service also allows fans to choose their audio stream (home, away, and national calls).

Currently, NFL+ is available for $6.99 per month or $49.99 for a full year, with the ability to upgrade to NFL+ Premium for $14.99 monthly or $99.99 annually. NFL+ Premium offers all of the features on NFL+, as well as full and condensed game replays, the All-22 Coaches film, and NFL RedZone.

With NFL+, fans can watch every NFL Network exclusive game this season across all devices, including the two upcoming games in Frankfurt, Germany Kansas City Chiefs vs. Miami Dolphins on Nov. 5 at 9:30 a.m. ET and Indianapolis Colts vs. New England Patriots on Nov. 12 at 9:30 a.m. ET.

What is VIZIO WatchFree+?

WatchFree+ is the free streaming service that is available on all VIZIO SmartCast TVs. The platform offers over 260 free linear channels and more than 6,000 on-demand titles. WatchFree+ also provides access to live and local programming as well as a library of thousands of movies, TV series, and news, sports, music, kids and family, and multicultural titles. Top channels include CNN, FOX Sports, Hallmark Channel, ION Plus, LEGO Channel, MLB, NBC News Now, and Stories by AMC.
