Chances are, you’ve never seen an NHL hockey game like this before. While you can watch the boring, traditional version of the Pittsburgh Penguins vs. the Boston Bruins on either ABC, on the Disney Channel and Disney XD, ESPN will use tracking technology to recreate all of the hockey action with animated versions of the players, skating alongside everyone’s favorite characters from “Big City Greens.” This is an alternate broadcast that everyone in the family will want to watch. Both the traditional and animated broadcasts of the game will also be available on ESPN+, while the Big City Greens Classic 2 will be available to stream on Disney+ as well. The alternate broadcast of Saturday’s game between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Boston Bruins will feature real-time, virtually recreated animation of the Penguins and Bruins players and coaches in the style of characters from the Disney Channel’s hit animated series “Big City Greens.”

While ESPN’s Drew Carter, Kevin Weekes, and Arda Öcal will be the animated version of the game’s broadcast team, “Big City Greens” cast members Chris Houghton, Shane Houghton, Marieve Harrington, Zeno Robinson, and Artemis Pebdani will also be on hand to add their specific characters’ perspective. Steve Levy, Mark Messier, and P.K. Subban will be in the studio for pregame and intermission commentary as well.
