From true crime shows to a new dark comedy from HBO, there’s a great range of new titles coming to streaming this week.
It’s Monday again, and for most American adults that means the resumption of the work week. It’s never a great feeling to be facing yet another Monday, though at least fans of new shows like “The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live” have a brand-new episode to look forward to this week.
If your favorite title is still on hiatus thanks to the WGA/SAG-AFTRA strikes, or if you’re simply out of shows and movies on your watchlist, this is the list for you. The Streamable has compiled an index of new titles coming to various streaming services every day this week, which should hopefully give you something to look forward to when your work day is done!
Monday, Feb. 26
‘The Man Who Played with Fire’ Premiere | Max, discovery+
Olof Palme was one of the most fascinating political figures in world history. Palme served as Prime Minister of Sweden between 1969 and 1976, and again between 1982 and 1986. Palme was a firm believer in non-alignment, resisting attempts to land Sweden in one camp or the other during the Cold War and becoming a vocal proponent of Third World governments.
Palme’s assassination in 1986 has been a subject of fierce fascination, especially as the man originally convicted of his death was acquitted by the Svea Court of Appeal in 2000. “The Man Who Played With Fire” follows Swedish author Stieg Larsson’s investigation of Palme’s death, exploring the ins and outs of the case and attempting to solve once and for all who was responsible for Palme’s assassination.

‘Shogun’ Series Premiere | Hulu
This series takes viewers back hundreds of years, to Japan in the year 1600. At the dawn of a century-defining civil war, Lord Yoshii Toranaga is fighting for his life as his enemies on the Council of Regents unite against him when a mysterious European ship is found marooned in a nearby fishing village.
“Shogun” is an adaptation of the bestselling novel by author James Clavell. It is a tale of war and intrigue, of faith and loyalty. It features an ensemble cast of acclaimed Japanese performers, unprecedented for an American TV production, and ensures that the series is as accurate as it is well-produced.

‘Dead in the Water’ Premiere | Prime Video
The three-part true crime documentary “Dead In The Water” explores the story of a young British couple who set off for a trip of a lifetime across Central America. They believe they’re on the way to the vacation of their lives, and they won’t be held back. However, the trip of their dreams soon becomes a living nightmare.

The couple are murdered and the case for their killer goes cold. Four decades after their deaths, their families continue the investigation and make some shocking discoveries. ‘Me, Hereafter’ Series Premiere | Hulu
“Me, Hereafter,” a genre-bending, four-episode docu-drama, takes viewers inside gripping murder investigations like never before as if the dead have a voice from the beyond. This new series pushes the boundaries of true crime, combining never-before-seen investigative footage, interrogation videos, dramatic sequences, and poignant interviews with the victims’ loved ones and key authorities who worked on the cases.

In her desperation to find someone she can trust, the Chancellor turns to soldier Herbert Zubak (Matthias Schoenaerts) as an unlikely confidant. As Zubak’s influence over the chancellor grows, Elena’s attempts to expand her power eventually result in the palace and the country fracturing around her.
