Netflix Releases New Clip From “Bridgerton” Season 3

Bridgerton” Season 3 is still three months away, but Netflix has some early gossip around its hit Shondaland period drama. At a recent “Bridgerton” fan event in London, the streamer released a new clip from the first part of its upcoming third season.

According to the official season description, Season 3 will turn to the third eldest Bridgerton sibling, Colin (Luke Newton), and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan), who continues to lead a double life as Lady Whistledown. With Penelope ready to give up on her longtime crush on Colin and take a husband, Colin returns from his summer travels disheartened by Penelope giving him the cold shoulder. “Eager to win back her friendship, Colin offers to mentor Penelope in the ways of confidence to help her find a husband this season. But when his lessons start working a little too well, Colin must grapple with whether his feelings for Penelope are truly just friendly.”

In addition to Coughlan and Newton, Season 3 will see the return of key cast Claudia Jessie, Luke Thompson, Golda Rosheuvel, Adjoa Andoh, Ruth Gemmell, Lorraine Ashbourne, Hannah Dodd, Simone Ashley, Jonathan Bailey, Harriet Cains, Bessie Carter, Jessica Madsen, Florence Hunt, Martins Imhangbe, Will Tilston, Polly Walker. Hugh Sachs, Emma Naomi, and Kathryn Drysdale, plus Julie Andrews as the voice of Lady Whistledown. Daniel Francis, James Phoon, and Sam Phillips round out the cast as new season additions.

Season 3 of “Bridgerton” will arrive on Netflix in two parts with Part 1 set to premiere on Thursday, May 16, and Part 2 on Thursday, June 13.


“Only Murders In the Building” Season 4 Announces First Major Addition

The Arconia’s crack trio of sleuths will soon be back and on an all-new personal case! Hulu has announced the first casting for Season 4 of its acclaimed murder-mystery comedy series “Only Murders In the Building.” Joining the cast for a season-long arc will be “Saturday Night Live” star Molly Shannon has been tapped for a season-long arc on the mystery comedy.

As per usual, plot details are being kept under wraps, but according to Disney Television Group President Craig Erwich, Season 4 will kick off with Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short), and Mabel (Selena Gomez) in Los Angeles before returning to The Arconia in their search of Saz’s (Jane Lynch) killer. Shannon will reportedly play a high-powered L.A. businesswoman who finds herself drawn into the investigation in New York City.

The star-studded third season of the series featured Paul Rudd as Ben Glenroy, a Hollywood actor who is murdered on the opening night of his Broadway premiere, and Meryl Streep as Loretta Durkin, who plays Oliver’s love interest and stars in the production opposite Glenroy (and then Charles). The ensemble cast also features Michael Cyril Creighton, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Tina Fey, Jackie Hoffman, Nathan Lane, James Caverly, Ryan Broussard, and more.

A premiere date for Season 4 will be announced at a later date.


“Evil” to End After Four Seasons at Paramount+

Unfortunately, “Evil” has been defeated.

Paramount+ has announced the psychological mystery series will end with its upcoming fourth season and has released a teaser trailer to both confirm the news and tease the series’ end. Additionally, while production on Season 4 has already wrapped, the streamer has ordered four bonus episodes to help wrap up the series; production on those new episodes will begin soon in N.Y.C.

Created by Robert and Michelle King, the series “examines the origins of evil along the dividing line between science and religion” and centers on Dr. Kristen Bouchard (played by Katja Herbers), a skeptical female psychologist who joins a priest-in-training (Mike Colter) and a contractor (Aasif Mandvi) as they investigate the Church’s backlog of unexplained mysteries, supposed miracles, demonic possessions, and hauntings. The series initially premiered in 2019 on CBS and was moved to Paramount+ for its second season in 2021. Despite being one of CBS and Paramount’s highest-rated and most-acclaimed series, it has struggled to find a major audience throughout its run.

In addition to Herbers, Colter, and Mandvi, the series also stars Michael Emerson, Andrea Martin, Kurt Fuller, Christine Lahti, Brooklyn Shuck, Skylar Gray, Maddy Crocco, and Dalya Knapp, among others.

A premiere date for the fourth and final season of “Evil” will be announced at a later date.


Trailer and Art Out for Disney+’s “Iwájú”

Disney and Kugali’s animated series “Iwájú” is two weeks away from being live and in living color, and Disney+ has released the official trailer and key art for the all-new series.

Written by Adeola and Halima Hudson with direction by Olufikayo Ziki Adeolaalso, the coming-of-age series is set in a futuristic Lagos, Nigeria, where Tola (voiced by Simisola Gbadamosi), a young girl from the wealthy island, and her best friend, Kole (Siji Soetan), a self-taught tech expert, as they discover the secrets and dangers hidden in their different worlds. The six-episode series also features the voices of Dayo Okeniyi, Femi Branch, and Weruche Opia.

“Iwájú” will premiere on Disney+ on Wednesday, Feb. 28. Additionally, the streamer will release “Iwájú: A Day Ahead” on the same day. The documentary will tell the story of the Pan-African entertainment company Kugali and how they made their dreams a reality by creating an original animation series with Walt Disney Animation Studios.

“Disney Iwájú: Rising Chef,” a new mobile cooking game for iOS and Android that explores and celebrates the culture and cuisine of Nigeria, will also be available for download on Feb. 28.


Prime Video’s “Giannis: The Marvelous Journey” Gets Official Trailer

The view from the top has always looked good to Giannis Antetokounmpo. Prime Video has released the official trailer for the upcoming documentary “Giannis: The Marvelous Journey,” which chronicles the life and career of Milwaukee Bucks mega-star Antetokounmpo, nicknamed “The Greek Freak,” from his impoverished childhood in Greece as the child of Nigerian immigrants to his rise as one of the NBA’s most exciting and dominant power forwards.

Featuring interviews from Antetokounmpo and his family, fiancée Mariah Riddlesprigger, and basketball luminaries, including Jason Kidd, Khris Middleton, Vin Baker, and more, the intimate portrait follows the two-time league MVP and 2021 NBA Finals MVP through his odyssey for a better life for him and his family.

“Giannis: The Marvelous Journey” will debut on Prime Video on Monday, Feb. 19.
