Prime Video’s “Fallout” Gets First Look

The bunker door is creaking open at Prime Video. The streamer has released the first images for its upcoming “Fallout” series adaptation, starring Ella Purnell, Walton Goggins, Kyle MacLachlan, and more.

Based on the Bethesda video game franchise of the same name, the series takes place “in a future, post-apocalyptic Los Angeles [where] citizens must live in underground bunkers to protect themselves from radiation, mutants, and bandits after nuclear annihilation.”

The ensemble cast will be led by Goggins as The Ghoul, Purnell as Lucy, MacLachlan as Hank, as well as Aaron Moten, Xelia Mendes-Jones, Mike Doyle, Moisés Arias, Johnny Pemberton, Cherien Dabis, Leslie Uggams, Frances Turner, Michael Emerson, Sarita Choudhury, Dale Dickey, Matty Cardarople, and more.

“Fallout” is due to debut on Prime Video on April 12, 2024.


Netflix Acquires Kim Kardashian-Led “The Fifth Wheel”

Following her acclaimed role in “American Horror Story: Delicate,” Kim Kardashian will head back to the screen to show off her comedy chops. Netflix has acquired the upcoming ensemble comedy “The Fifth Wheel” from Paula Pell (“Saturday Night Live”) and Janine Brito (“Girls5Eva”), which will star Kardashian as the eponymous “fifth wheel” alongside a female ensemble cast.

Further cast details and a release date for “The Fifth Wheel” have yet to be announced.


“Dr. Death” Gets Season 2 Trailer

Dr. Death” is knocking on the door. Peacock has released the Season 2 trailer for its hit true-crime drama anthology series based on the Wondery podcast of the same name.

The second season of “Dr. Death” will follow “Miracle Man” Paolo Macchiarini (played by Edgar Ramírez), a charming surgeon renowned for his innovative operations. When investigative journalist Benita Alexander (Mandy Moore) approaches him for a story, she learns how far Paolo will go to protect his secrets, and a group of doctors halfway around the world make shocking discoveries about the surgeon.

Rita Volk, Judy Reyes, Jack Davenport, Annika Boras, Luke Kirby, Sandra Andreis, Ashley Madekwe, and Gustaf Hammarsten will also recur in the new season. The first season of the series, which dramatizes the story of American neurosurgeon (and the eponymous Dr. Death) Christopher Duntsch, starred Joshua Jackson, Grace Gummer, Christian Slater, Alec Baldwin, and AnnaSophia Robb.

All eight episodes will be available on Peacock on Dec. 21. Peacock will release a companion documentary, “Dr. Death: Cutthroat Conman” on the same day.


Starz Renews “Power Book III: Raising Kanan”

Starz is celebrating the upcoming third season of “Power Book III: Raising Kanan” with another chapter.

The acclaimed crime drama has received an early Season 4 renewal, days ahead of its Dec. 1 Season 3 premiere. The third series in the “Power” franchise tells the origin story of Kanan Stark (played by Mekai Curtis in “Raising Kanan” and by 50 Cent in the original “Power”) and his entry into the criminal world through his mother Raquel “Raq” Thomas (Patina Miller), matriarch of the family’s drug empire.

Fubo to Release Bruce Campbell-Hosted Docuseries “Discontinued”

Ashy Slashy meets the flashy (and occasionally trashy): Fubo, Ryan Reynolds’ Maximum Effort, and Nacelle Company are teaming up for “Discontinued,” a 10-episode docuseries hosted by “Evil Dead” star Bruce Campbell.

The nostalgia-driven series takes viewers “on a journey through the past using products, phenomenons, and phrases that are gone but not forgotten,” with Campbell and a cast of comedians exploring (and lambasting) cultural phenomenons like Furby, Gameboy, Disneyland’s Videopolis, “Total Request Live,” and more.

“Discontinued” will premiere on the Maximum Effort Channel on Fubo tomorrow, Nov. 30 at 8:00 p.m. ET ahead of its regular 9:00 p.m. ET time slot at 9:00 p.m. every Wednesday starting Dec. 6.
