Prime Video’s “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” Gets Official Trailer

It’s the little things you do together: Prime Video has released the first official teaser of its highly anticipated “Mr. & Mrs. Smith,” starring Donald Glover and Maya Erskine.

In the new version, two lonely strangers land jobs working for a mysterious spy agency that offers them a glorious life of espionage, wealth, and world travel. The catch? New identities in an arranged marriage as John and Jane Smith. The newly married pair will navigate a high-risk mission every week while also facing new relationship milestones and avoiding the complications of catching real feelings for each other.

The all-star ensemble of the romance-drama-action series will be comprised of Alexander Skarsgård, Eiza González, Sarah Paulson, Sharon Horgan, Ron Perlman, Billy Campbell, Úrsula Corberó, Paul Dano, Michaela Coel, John Turturro, Parker Posey, and Wagner Moura.

All eight episodes of “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” Season will be available to watch on Prime Video on Feb. 2.


“Twisted Metal” Adaptation Gets Season New Renewal

Buckle up: Peacock’s high-octane adaptation of the classic PlayStation game series “Twisted Metal” will head back out on the trailer for a second season.

The action-comedy, which premiered this summer on July 27, follows “a motor-mouthed outsider offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland.” Along with a badass axe-wielding car thief, he must face savage marauders (including a deranged clown) driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road.

Anthony Mackie leads the series opposite Stephanie Beatriz and Joe Seanoa with Will Arnett, Thomas Haden Church, Neve Campbell, Richard Cabral, Mike Mitchell, Tahj Vaughans, Lou Beatty Jr., Chloe Fineman, and Jason Mantzoukas appearing throughout.

A premiere date for Season 2 of “Twisted Metal” has yet to be announced.


Apple TV+ Releases First Look for “Constellation”

Apple TV+ takes to the stars with its new conspiracy-based psychological thriller drama “Constellation.” The streamer has released the first images from the eight-part series, which will be led by Noomi Rapace and Jonathan Banks.

The series stars Rapace as Jo, an astronaut who returns to Earth after a disaster in space, only to discover that key pieces of her life seem to be missing, exploring “the dark edges of human psychology and one woman’s desperate quest to expose the truth about the hidden history of space travel and recover all that she has lost.”

James D’Arcy, Julian Looman, William Catlett, Barbara Sukowa, and Rosie and Davina Coleman make up the ensemble of the action-packed drama.

“Constellation” will make its global debut with the first three episodes on Wednesday, Feb. 21, followed by one episode weekly through March 27.


Netflix Releases Trailer for Dan Levy’s “Good Grief”

Dan Levy rings in the new year and his post-“Schitt's Creek” era with his feature directorial and writing debut: Netflix’s “Good Grief.”

The streamer has released the debut trailer for the dramedy feature. Levy also leads the cast as Marc, an artist grieving the loss of his famous writer husband who takes his two best friends on a trip to Paris, where they unpack messy secrets and hard truths. Ruth Negga and Himesh Patel co-star with Levy with Luke Evans, Celia Imrie, Arnaud Valois, David Bradley, Jamael Westman, Emma Corrin, and Kaitlyn Dever.

“Good Grief” will premiere on Netflix on Jan. 5.


“Cruel Intentions” Gets Series Order

Prime Video is paving its way to the top with “Cruel Intentions.” The streamer has officially announced a series order for a drama series inspired by the iconic 1990s film of the same name.

Sony Pictures Television will produce the adaptation, which will take place at an elite Washington, D.C., college, where two ruthless step-siblings will do anything to stay on top of the cutthroat social hierarchy, even if that means seducing the daughter of the vice president of the United States.

Sarah Catherine Hook, Zac Burgess, Savannah Lee Smith, Sara Silva, Khobe Clarke, John Harlan Kim, Brooke Lena Johnson, and Sean Patrick Thomas lead the cast with Claire Forlani, Nikki Crawford, Isabella Tagliati, Zeke Goodman, and Jon Tenney in recurring roles.

The eight-episode “Cruel Intentions” will premiere exclusively on Prime Video with an expected premiere in 2024.
