Daniel Radcliffe Producing “David Holmes: The Boy Who Lived” Documentary for HBO

Eternally “The Boy Who Lived,” Daniel Radcliffe is lending his famous moniker to a worthy cause: the “Harry Potter” star will executive produce the new HBO Original documentary “David Holmes: The Boy Who Lived,” a coming-of-age story about the prodigious teenage gymnast from Essex who was select to play Radcliffe’s stunt double in the first “Harry Potter” film.

The pair formed an inextricable bond in the 10 years that followed Holmes’ hiring. But Holmes suffered a tragic accident on the set of the penultimate “Potter” film that left him paralyzed with a debilitating spinal injury. With the support of Radcliffe and his closest stunt colleagues, “it is David’s extraordinary spirit of resilience that becomes their greatest source of strength and inspiration.”

The new documentary will feature candid personal footage, behind-the-scenes material, and intimate interviews with Holmes, Radcliffe, friends, family, and former crew. “David Holmes: The Boy Who Lived” will debut on HBO on Nov. 15 at 9 p.m. ET/PT and will be available to stream on Max.

Tyler Perry Forms Creative Partnership with Netflix

After previously teaming up on “A Jazzman's Blues,” “A Madea Homecoming,” and “A Fall from Grace,” Netflix has announced the formation of a new creative partnership with Tyler Perry that will see the filmmaker write, direct, and produce feature films under a multi-year first-look project deal.

Perry already has two major films lined up with the streamer: “Six Triple Eight” and “Mea Culpa.” “Six Triple Eight” is based on the true story of the first and only Women’s Army Corp unit of color to be stationed overseas during World War II and will feature an ensemble cast led by Kerry Washington. The latter film will star Kelly Roland as a criminal defense attorney who takes on the case of an artist who may or may not have murdered his girlfriend.

Ashley cut the cord in 2012 and is a fan of the New York Yankees, FC Bayern Munich, and (for balance) the Buffalo Sabres. She currently streams using a Fire TV Stick 4K Max, and her favorites to stream include "Blazing Saddles," "Six Feet Under," and "Taskmaster."
