Eva Longoria, who recently made her directorial debut with Hulu’s “Flamin' Hot,” will star in Season 4 of the streamer’s hit whodunit. Netflix Orders Montreal Expos Baseball Documentary

After inking a deal this past November, Netflix and Montreal-based Attraction are already making good on their new creative partnership. First up to the plate: a new feature-length documentary about the Montreal Expos and their controversial exit from MLB in 2004.

Directed by Jean-François Poisson, the currently untitled documentary feature will look at the city disputes, firings, ownership changes, and setbacks that led to the Expos’ exit from Montreal to become the Washington Nationals in 2005 and how the decision continues to spark debate two decades later.

A premiere date for the documentary, which will join Netflix’s collection of original documentaries including the recent “Under Pressure: The U.S. Women’s World Cup Team,” will be announced later.

“Oppenheimer” Has Record-Breaking Peacock Launch

After making its exclusive streaming debut on Peacock this past Friday, Feb. 16, the already-record-smashing “Oppenheimer” has a new title to its name.

Over its launch weekend on the streamer, Christopher Nolan’s historical thriller became the most-watched Pay 1 film premiere ever on the platform, surpassing the record previously held by “The Super Mario Bros. Movie.”

In addition to the feature film, Peacock also has curated an “Impact the World” on-platform collection featuring more than 15 Behind-the-Scenes “Oppenheimer,” featurettes, six Christopher Nolan-directed films, 13 Cillian Murphy movies, and more.

The epic stars Cillian Murphy as physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, the central figure in World War II in a face against time to develop the first atomic bomb. The A-list ensemble also features Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., Florence Pugh, Josh Hartnett, Casey Affleck, Rami Malek, Kenneth Branagh, and others.

Watch the trailer for “Oppenheimer” below:

The most nominated film of this year’s awards season, the film is currently nominated for 13 Academy Award nominations (including Best Picture, Best Directing for Nolan, Best Actor for Murphy, Best Supporting Actor for Downey Jr., and Best Supporting Actress for Blunt), won seven BAFTA Awards, and five Golden Globe Awards. The film grossed nearly $1 billion at the global box office, third in line behind the aforementioned Nintendo adaptation ($1.362 billion) and Greta Gerwig’s unbeatable “Barbie” in the number-one spot ($1.446 billion).
