“Doctor Who” Debuts New Trailer

Allons-y, Whovians! As promised, Disney+ wrapped up last week with the first official trailer for the upcoming new season of “Doctor Who,” starring Ncuti Gatwa as the recently regenerated Fifteenth Doctor.

In wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey fashion, the long-running sci-fi series will start back at Series 1 for its new era, which will see the Fifteenth Doctor and companion Ruby Sunday (played by Millie Gibson) travel across time and space, from Regency-era England to war-torn future worlds.

The new season, will for the first time, be streamed on both iPlayer and BBC in the United Kingdom and on Disney+ in the United States and internationally with the first two episodes will premiere on Friday, May 10, in the U.S. following a replay of the Christmas special “The Church on Ruby Road” special at 7 p.m. ET before the season premiere.

In addition to Gatwa and Gibson, this season will see an all-new rotation of international guest stars including Jinkx Monsoon, Aneurin Barnard, Anita Dobson, Yasmin Finney, Michelle Greenidge, Jonathan Groff, Bonnie Langford, Genesis Lynea, Jemma Redgrave, Lenny Rush, Indira Varma, and Angela Wynter, to play new and old friends and foes.


“The Last Thing He Told Me” Renewed For Second Season By Apple TV+

The Last Thing He Told Me” has more to say.

Apple TV+ has picked up a second season of its Jennifer Garner-led thriller, which is based on Laura Dave’s bestseller of the same name. Initially greenlighted as a limited series, the forthcoming second season will now be based on Dave’s upcoming sequel, due out in 2025 ahead of the second season.

Co-created and adapted by Dave with Josh Singer, “The Last Thing He Told Me” follows Hannah Hall (Garner), who must forge a relationship with her 16-year-old stepdaughter to find out the truth about why her husband has mysteriously disappeared.

Also starring in the series are Angourie Rice, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, and David Morse, who are all set to reprise their roles in the second season. Aisha Tyler, Augusto Aguilera, John Harlan Kim, and Geoff Stults make up the rest of the main and recurring first-season cast.


Exclusive Beach Boys Documentary Coming to Disney+

Disney+ has picked up good vibrations, with the streamer announcing on Tuesday a new documentary about The Beach Boys will come to the platform on Friday, May 24.

Directed by Frank Marshall and Thom Zimmy, the new doc, simply titled “The Beach Boys,” will serve as “a celebration of the legendary band that revolutionized pop music and the iconic, harmonious sound they created that personified the California dream, captivating fans for generations and generations to come.” The film will contain never-before-seen footage and interviews from current and former band members, including Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, David Marks, Bruce Johnston, Carl Wilson, Dennis Wilson, Blondie Chaplin, and Ricky Fataar. Music legends such as Lindsey Buckingham, Janelle Monáe, and Ryan Tedder will also participate.

This is the latest high-profile music documentary for Disney+, following the premiere of the highly anticipated, record-breaking “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version),” which set a streamer record with 4.6 million views in its first three days.


“WWE: Next Gen” Trailer Out Now

Get ready for the main event! The Roku Channel has released the trailer for its upcoming WWE docuseries “WWE: Next Gen,” executive produced by 16-time champ John Cena.

WWE announced its plans for the docuseries last year, and now, fans will get ringside access to the eight-episode docuseries, which will follow the training, triumphs, and life-changing moments as talented hopefuls make their professional wrestling dreams a reality.

In addition to executive producing, John Cena will also appear in the series, with Matt Bloom, Big E, and WWE Hall of Famer/showstopper/main event/icon Shawn Michaels acting as coaches throughout the recruitment and training process. Bianca Belair, “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair, and WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque will also make special guest appearances throughout.

“WWE: Next Gen” will stream for free on the Roku Channel beginning next Monday, April 1.


Hulu Releases “Dinosaur” Trailer

Hulu has released the first trailer for its new coming-of-age series “Dinosaur,” due out from the streamer next month!

Created by Matilda Curtis and Ashley Storrie, the heartwarming British comedy from BBC Three/BBC Scotland follows Nina (Storrie), an autistic woman in her 30s who is content living with her sister and best friend, Evie (Kat Ronney), until Evie rushes into an engagement after only six weeks. Forced to grapple with her sister’s impulsive decision, Nina must navigate life, sisterhood, and love as her life is turned upside down.

The series also features Vicki Pepperdine, David Carlyle, Lorn Macdonald, Danny Ashok, Greg Hemphill, Sabrina Sandhu, Ben Rufus Green, Jim Kitson, Sally Howitt, Kate Dickie, and Sanjeev Kohli.

All six episodes of “Dinosaur” will be available to stream on Hulu on Friday, April 5.
