‘The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live’ Drives Record Sign-Ups for AMC+; Which ‘Walking Dead’ Shows Are on the Streamer?
Everyone is buzzing about the new ‘Walking Dead’ series, which created three times as much social media activity as the next most-popular show on Sunday.
It appears that AMC has another hit on its hands! The newest entrant in “The Walking Dead” franchise, entitled “The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live,” drew 3 million viewers on its premiere night, making it the largest debut night audience for AMC since 2018’s “The Terror.” The show also drove a record number of sign-ups on the company’s streaming service AMC+.

AMC did not reveal specifically how many extra subscribers it had acquired from the premiere of “The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live,” but it proudly announced that the premiere episode was the most-watched in the history of its streaming platform. AMC currently has 11.4 million subscribers between its various streaming services, including AMC+.
AMC has also revealed that “The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live” has already outpaced first-week viewing for any season of a show on AMC+ in just two days. The series also generated plenty of buzz on social media, as it created more than three times the activity of the next-most-talked-about show.
“The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live” stars Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira, reprising their roles from the original “Walking Dead.” Separated by events that occurred on-screen in that series, Rick Grimes and Michonne saw their relationship fall apart, and now that they face a startling reunion they’ll have to grapple with unresolved feelings that could be as deadly as the walkers which pursue them.

‘The Walking Dead’

This series will take fans back to the origins of the zombie apocalypse, and the transformation of the normal world into an undead nightmare. Over the course of the show’s eight seasons, viewers will follow its characters through Los Angeles, Mexico, and Texas as they struggle to survive the new world order.
‘The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon’
Norman Reedus returns as Daryl Dixon in this spinoff, which first premiered in 2023. Dixon awakens to find himself in France, where the zombie virus that transformed the world first originated, but he has no memory of how he got there or his purpose. He sets his course for home, but the connections he makes and the information he learns on the way complicate his plans.
‘The Walking Dead: Dead City’
This series also debuted in 2023 and follows Negan and Maggie on a journey to Manhattan, which was long ago cut off from the mainland. There are still human survivors on the island, but like every other place on Earth, it’s also overrun with shambling, mindless corpses. This chaos is usually a scenario in which Negan thrives, but he’s a fish out of water this time, and first, he must learn how to survive this city of the dead before he can conquer.
‘Tales of the Walking Dead’
This six-episode anthology series was first introduced in 2022. Each episode features different settings and characters, some of whom are new while others are returning faces from other “Walking Dead” shows. A follow-up series entitled “More Tales from the Walking Dead Universe” is due to arrive on AMC+ within the next couple of years.
