‘The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live’ Drives Record Sign-Ups for AMC+; Which ‘Walking Dead’ Shows Are on the Streamer?

Everyone is buzzing about the new ‘Walking Dead’ series, which created three times as much social media activity as the next most-popular show on Sunday.

It appears that AMC has another hit on its hands! The newest entrant in “The Walking Dead” franchise, entitled “The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live,” drew 3 million viewers on its premiere night, making it the largest debut night audience for AMC since 2018’s “The Terror.” The show also drove a record number of sign-ups on the company’s streaming service AMC+.

  • “The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live” drove greater streaming customer acquisition for AMC+ than any show in the streamer’s history.
  • The two-day viewership total for the show’s first episode on AMC+ has outpaced the first week of viewership of any season premiere on the platform.
  • Viewers will also find the original “Walking Dead” series on AMC+, along with several other spinoffs.

AMC did not reveal specifically how many extra subscribers it had acquired from the premiere of “The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live,” but it proudly announced that the premiere episode was the most-watched in the history of its streaming platform. AMC currently has 11.4 million subscribers between its various streaming services, including AMC+.

AMC has also revealed that “The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live” has already outpaced first-week viewing for any season of a show on AMC+ in just two days. The series also generated plenty of buzz on social media, as it created more than three times the activity of the next-most-talked-about show.

“The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live” stars Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira, reprising their roles from the original “Walking Dead.” Separated by events that occurred on-screen in that series, Rick Grimes and Michonne saw their relationship fall apart, and now that they face a startling reunion they’ll have to grapple with unresolved feelings that could be as deadly as the walkers which pursue them.

“On Sunday, we had an incredible reunion of TWD giants: Rick and Michonne — and the fans of ‘The Walking Dead,’ both old and new,” said the show’s EP Scott M. Gimple. “Danai and Andy’s mind-blowing work in front of and behind the camera, along with the efforts of a truly wonderful cast and crew was all for an audience we asked to believe just a little bit longer. We’re grateful they did.”

What Other ‘Walking Dead’ Titles Are Available on AMC+?

AMC+ has an ad-supported tier for $4.99 per month or an ad-free plan for $8.99. It’s even available in bundles for a discounted price on Prime Video Channels, so viewers have several options for getting the service at multiple price points.

There are a number of other titles from “The Walking Dead” franchise available to stream on AMC+, including the original show. The Streamable will break down each title below!
