New month, new releases at Disney+! Some of the House of Mouse’s biggest brands will see premieres in February. The streamer will bid adieu to its animated series “Star Wars: The Bad Batch,” which kicks off its third and final season with three new episodes on Feb. 21. Disney+ subscribers will also get to revisit last year’s “The Marvels,” which will have its streaming premiere on Feb. 7.

The National Geographic anthology series returns for its fourth installment with two greats for the price of one. Season 4 follows Martin Luther King Jr. (Kelvin Harrison, Jr.) and Malcolm X (Aaron Pierre) “from their formative years, where they were molded by strong fathers and traumatic injustices, to their rich, parallel stories as they shaped their identities and became the change they wished to see in the world.” The series also stars Weruche Opia, Jayme Lawson, Gary Carr, Hubert Point-Du Jour, and Ron Cephas Jones in a posthumous role, as well as recurring appearances from Lennie James, LisaGay Hamilton, Griffin Matthews, and more.

The latest from Pixar’s SparkShorts program, which promotes new storytellers, techniques, and production workflows, “Self” follows a wooden doll desperate to fit in who makes an ill-fated wish upon a star, sparking a journey of self-discovery. But her desire to blend in leads her down a harmful path, challenging her perspective of who she is and where she’s going.


The Marvels” | Wednesday, Feb. 7

Good things come in threes. The “Captain Marvel” sequel sees the return of Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, a.k.a. Captain Marvel, whose duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary and her powers become entangled with two other superheroes: Jersey City super-fan, Kamala Khan, a.k.a. Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani), and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris). Together, the trio must work together to save the universe. and they must work together to save the universe. Also featured in the ensemble cast are Zawe Ashton, Gary Lewis, Park Seo-joon, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Samuel L. Jackson, Saagar Shaikh, and more.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch” Season 3 Premiere | Wednesday, Feb. 21

Dave Filoni’s animated series will kick off its third and final season as the Batch have their limits tested in the fight to reunite with Omega, and the fractured group faces threats from all directions. Seeking out unexpected allies and embarking on new dangerous missions, they will have to take everything they’ve learned so far to free themselves from the Empire. The first three episodes will be released on Feb. 21 with a new episode released each week through the series finale on May 1.

Iwájú” | Wednesday, Feb. 28

The Kugali original animated series follows Tola, a young girl in futuristic Lagos, and her best friend, Kole, a self-taught tech expert, as they discover the secrets and dangers hidden in their different worlds. The coming-of-age story will feature the voices of Simisola Gbadamosi, Dayo Okeniyi, Femi Branch, Siji Soetan, and Weruche Opia.
