As 2023 comes to a close, Netflix has saved some of its best for last! The streamer is celebrating multiple highly anticipated premieres throughout December, including Bradley Cooper’s Leonard Bernstein biopic “Maestro,” Todd Haynes’ critically acclaimed “May December,” and Zack Snyder’s space opera “Rebel Moon — Part One: A Child of Fire.”

Viewers will also say goodbye to the beloved period drama “The Crown,” which will release its final six episodes on Dec. 14 and officially end its reign.

May December” | Friday, Dec. 1

Todd Haynes finds romantic drama in both the past and present with his latest “May December,” ringing in the latter month on the first day. Natalie Portman, Julianne Moore, and Charles Melton star in the story, which takes place 20 years after a notorious tabloid romance gripped the nation and a married couple (Moore, Melton) buckles under the pressure when actor Elizabeth (Portman) arrives to do research for a film about their past.

Leave the World Behind” | Friday, Dec. 8

Based on the National Book Award for Fiction finalist of the same name by Rumaan Alam “Leave the World Behind” arrives on the platform after its brief limited theatrical run. The apocalyptic thriller follows a family of four who rent a luxurious home on Long Island for a weekend, but soon, the vacation is upended when two strangers, G.H. and his daughter Ruth, arrive in the night, bearing news of a mysterious cyberattack and seeking shelter in the house they claim is theirs. Julia Roberts, Mahershala Ali, Ethan Hawke, Myha’la, Farrah Mackenzie, Charlie Evans, and Kevin Bacon star.

The Crown” Season 6, Part 2 | Thursday, Dec. 14

After releasing its first four episodes on Nov. 16, “The Crown” will bid farewell with a six-episode second part to its third season, and now, with the Commonwealth irrevocably changed after the 1997 car crash in Paris that killed Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed, Queen Elizabeth II (played by Imelda Staunton) must reflect on her life and legacy and pave the way for her successors, Charles and William. Jonathan Pryce, Lesley Manville, Dominic West, Claudia Harrison, Olivia Williams, Bertie Carvel, Salim Daw, Ed McVey, Luther Ford, and Meg Bellamy lead the period drama to its conclusion.

Maestro” | Wednesday, Dec. 20

Baton at the ready, “Maestro” is here at last. The Leonard Bernstein biopic, co-written by, directed by, and starring Bradley Cooper, will chronicle the lifelong relationship between the famed conductor and Felicia Montealegre Cohn Bernstein (played by Carey Mulligan) as he rose to fame. Maya Hawke, Sarah Silverman, Matt Bomer, Sam Nivola, Michael Urie, Gideon Glick, and others make up the ensemble.

Rebel Moon — Part One: A Child of Fire” | Friday, Dec. 22

Zack Snyder takes to the skies for the first part of the epic space opera “Rebel Moon,” entitled “A Child of Fire.” The story centers on Kora, a stranger with a mysterious past who crash lands on a moon in the furthest reaches of the universe and begins a new life among the peaceful settlement of farmers. But soon, she becomes their only hope for survival against the tyrannical Regent Balisarius and the Imperium army. Sofia Boutella leads the cast opposite Djimon Hounsou, Charlie Hunnam, Michiel Huisman, Staz Nair, Doona Bae, Ray Fisher, Cleopatra Coleman, E.
