Top 5 Titles Coming to Paramount+ in October 2023: ‘Frasier,’ ‘Fellow Travelers’

Paramount+ is welcoming home some familiar friends (and foes) this month! The streamer is ringing in October with its latest list of new additions, including the premiere of its “Frasier” revival with long-time Dr. Frasier Crane portrayer Kelsey Grammer back to listen to your problems. The platform is also debuting latest entry in Stephen King’s “Pet Sematary” franchise with the prequel film “Pet Sematary: Bloodlines.”

There’s something new (or something old) for everybody, though, with the streamer adding nearly 200 titles to its library, including originals, exclusives, library films and TV series, and sports events.

What are the 5 Best Shows and Movies Coming to Paramount+ in October 2023?

“Bargain” | Thursday, Oct. 5

The hit Korean thriller series will make its United States debut on the streamer during the first week of the month. An adaptation of filmmaker Lee Chung-hyun’s 2015 short film, “Bargain” stars actors Jun Jong-seo and Jin Seon-kyu and revolves around a group of strangers who gather at a remote motel with ulterior motives when an unexpected earthquake traps them inside the building.

“Pet Sematary: Bloodlines” | Friday, Oct. 6

Following its world premiere at this year’s Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas, the “Pet Sematary” franchise prequel film follows a young Jud Crandall (played by Jackson White), who dreams of leaving behind his hometown of Ludlow, Maine, but soon discovers sinister secrets buried within the town’s confines. Banding together with his childhood friends, Jud must fight an ancient evil that has gripped Ludlow since its founding and must even confront his own family’s history in the process. White will star opposite, Forrest Goodluck, Jack Mulhern, Henry Thomas, Natalie Alyn Lind, Isabella Star LaBlanc, Samantha Mathis, Pam Grier, and David Duchovny.

“The Starling Girl” | Monday, Oct. 9

The coming-of-age drama follows Gem Starling (played by Eliza Scanlen), a 17-year-girl raised in a fundamentalist Christian community in Kentucky who is trying to figure out her place in the world as her love of dance, along with her own burgeoning desires, become difficult to reconcile with her faith. In the middle of all the confusion, Gem finds encouragement and refuge with Owen, her youth pastor. Lewis Pullman, Jimmi Simpson, Wrenn Schmidt, Austin Abrams, and Kyle Secor co-star.

“Frasier” Revival Premiere | Thursday, Oct. 12

The doctor is back in! Thirty years after the original “Frasier” first premiered and began its Emmy-winning record run, Paramount+ is reviving the Kelsey Grammer-led series with a 10-episide first season debuting on Oct. 12. Filmed in front of a live studio audience, the revival follows Crane in the next chapter of his life after he returns to Boston with new challenges and relationships, plus old dreams to fulfill. The new series also stars Jack Cutmore-Scott, Nicholas Lyndhurst, Toks Olagundoye, Jess Salgueiro, and Anders Keith.

“Fellow Travelers” | Friday, Oct. 27

Described as an epic love story and political thriller, the seven-episode miniseries “Fellow Travelers” stars Matt Bomer and Jonathan Bailey as two men in McCarthy-era Washington who begin a clandestine romance at the intersection of politics and faith. The series takes place over five decades and follow five main characters, including Bomer’s Hawk, Bailey’s Tim, Marcus (Jelani Alladin), Lucy (Allison Williams), and Frankie (Noah J. Ricketts) as they cross paths while facing the obstacles of their collective and individual worlds.
