A recent Oscar winner for Best International Feature Film, the Japanese drama stars Hidetoshi Nishijima as Yūsuke Kafuku, an aging actor who takes a directing job in Hiroshima while dealing with the death of his wife (Reika Kirishima). For insurance reasons, he’s required to get a chauffeur and hires a 20-year-old woman (Tōko Miura), with whom he develops a special bond. “The Exorcist” | Thursday, Feb. 29
Now more than 50 years since its theatrical release, William Friedkin’s “The Exorcist” is still influencing pop culture. Ellen Burstyn, Linda Blair, Jason Miller, and Max von Sydow lead the cast of the horror film centered on the demonic possession and exorcism of Blair’s 12-year-old Regan. It holds its rightful place as the first horror film to be nominated for a Best Picture Oscar, still terrifying audiences of all ages to this day.

“Knocked Up” | Thursday, Feb. 29
Needing to follow up on the success of his “The 40-Year-Old Virgin” two years prior, Judd Apatow knocked out “Knocked Up.” Starring Katherine Heigl and Seth Rogen, the comedy centers on the repercussions of a drunken one-night stand between a slacker (Rogen) and a recently promoted media personality (Heigl) that results in an unintended pregnancy. The unexpected rom-com topped many 2007 Top 10 lists and still holds up 17 years later.
