UEFA Champions League, Formula 1 Racing Both Launch Free Streaming Channels; How to Stream Live Games, Races from Both

Both channels will offer highlights, game/race replays and more, but neither will carry any live events.

The amount of sports content on free ad-supported TV (FAST) channels seems to grow every day. This week, two of the biggest sports competitions in the world launched free streaming channels of their own: the UEFA Champions League and Formula 1 auto racing. Fans can head to these channels to see highlights and analysis of action from their respective leagues, but they won’t be carrying any live UEFA Champions League matches or F1 races. The Streamable’s experts will give you all the information you need on those channels, as well as where you can watch live UEFA Champions League soccer and Formula 1 racing without a cable subscription below.

Key Details:

  • The Formula 1 Channel will offer race replays, highlights, racing documentaries, and more.
  • Champions League offers highlights from the current UEFA season, as well as seasons past.
  • Viewers can find the UEFA Champions League streaming on Paramount+, and F1 racing on ESPN and F1 TV.

The Champions League channel from UEFA and CBS Sports serves up “nonstop highlights of all the memorable moments and dramatic finishes from the world’s most prestigious club soccer tournament.” It’s available as of April 26, and can be found on Paramount’s free ad-supported streaming service Pluto TV.

“UEFA Champions League represents the absolute best soccer in the world, and this new channel delivers fans an always-on venue to relive the special moments, sensational goals, iconic players, and storied clubs that define this one-of-a-kind tournament,” said Jeffrey Gerttula, EVP, digital, of CBS Sports, News, Stations and Entertainment. “CBS Sports is the 24/7 home for soccer fans in this country, and we’re excited for this latest addition to our industry-leading multiplatform soccer coverage.”

The Formula 1 Channel will offer F1, F2, F3, and F1 Academy highlights as well as full race replays five days after live races air. It will also carry full historical Grand Prix races, as well as documentaries. The channel will also be available on Pluto TV, as well as Amazon’s Freevee and Samsung TV Plus.

“The Formula 1 Channel is the latest development by F1 designed to further evolve and elevate our content experience for fans,” said Ian Holmes, Director of Media Rights and Content Creation at Formula 1. “This service caters to the diverse viewing habits of our USA fanbase and serves as a great entry point for new fans into the sport, through strong curated programming which aims to showcase the drama of F1.”

More and more sports leagues are trying to raise fan interest and awareness by creating free streaming channels to provide highlights and other content. The NBA recently launched its first FAST channel, which is exclusively available now on The Roku Channel, though it will eventually spread to other platforms.
