With the Holidays Just Around the Corner, Where Can You Stream All 3 ‘Grinch’ Movies?

November is here, and that means the holiday season isn’t far behind! Christmas is now fewer than eight weeks out, and many lovers of the yuletide time of year are already setting up their holiday watchlists. It’s hard to imagine such watchlists being truly complete, however, without a visit from Dr. Seuss’s mean, green, Christmas-hating Grinch!

There have been three Grinch movies made thus far; 1966’s animated classic “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” the Jim Carrey-starring live-action movie of the same name which first came out in 2000, and 2018’s animated “The Grinch,” starring Benedict Cumberbatch as the holiday-loathing titular character.

This Jim Carrey vehicle created quite a stir at the time of its release, in no small part because of the uncanny makeup and even less canny mannerisms of Carrey himself. Nevertheless, the movie has become a cult classic, and a must-watch for some families come holiday time.

“How the Grinch Stole Christmas” (2000) is not currently available to stream with a subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) service. Fortunately, it is available to purchase or rent on Amazon’s Prime Video! The movie costs $3.79 to rent in Ultra-High-Definition 4K, or $14.69 to buy outright, and have to stream this and every holiday season.

Where Can You Watch ‘The Grinch’ (2018)

This newer animated movie presents a reimagining of the classic Grinch tale. It weaves the well-known and beloved narrative with a fresh new soundtrack, and takes viewers on a journey into the Grinch’s past, showing his backstory and just how the Whos of Whoville earned his contempt.

Like the original 1966 film, this movie is available to stream with a Peacock subscription. It features Benedict Cumberbatch as The Grinch, Rashida Jones, Kenan Thompson, Pharrell Williams, Angela Lansbury, and Mindy Sterling in an ensemble cast.
