Netflix is once again promising a hot summer lineup as the service announced the season two premiere of “The Umbrella Academy.” The original series, which is based on Dark Horse Comics title created and written by Gerard Way and illustrated by Gabriel Bá, comes back to the platform on July 31.

“The first season of ‘The Umbrella Academy’ dropped on February 15, 2019 and was ranked third on the list of Netflix’s most popular series releases of 2019. It was one of only three series to crack Netflix’s overall Top 10 list of its most popular 2019 releases,” Deadline reports.

The series follows a group of six siblings who are all adopted by billionaire Reginald Hargreeves and enrolled into The Umbrella Academy where they’re prepped to be superheroes.

Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, and Justin H. Min will reprise their roles as unlikely heroes, and they will be joined by Ritu Arya, Yusuf Gatewood and Marin Ireland this season.

Steve Blackman, who signed a multi-year overall deal with the streaming giant earlier this year, will return as showrunner. He will also serve as executive producer alongside Jeff F. King, Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg. Way and Bá are co-executive producers.
