Crackle announced today that they will premiere a new original documentary series on their platform. Titled “Road to Race Day,” the eight-episode series follows NASCAR team Hendrick Motorsports and “gives the audience unprecedented access to what it takes to drive into the winner’s circle week after week and race after race,” Crackle said in a statement. “Road to Race Day,” features star drivers Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jimmie Johnson, Chase Elliott, and Kasey Kahne, among others, and will be available to stream on July 1.
“We are very excited to bring ‘Road to Race Day’ to our Crackle audience,” said Philippe Guelton, president of Crackle Plus. “Our fans are craving sports content and the July Fourth weekend is the traditional high-water mark of the NASCAR racing season and this series will have viewers on the edge of their seats.”
“Road to Race Day” joins other originals and exclusives on the free streaming service including, “On Point,” “Cleanin’ Up the Town: Remembering Ghostbusters,” “The Clearing,” “Crown Vic,” “’85: The Greatest Team in Football History,” “Wonders of the Sea, Yelawolf: A Slumerican Life” and “Going From Broke.”
Just last week, parent company Crackle Plus announced they would add 200 hours of new original content to the platform. New Crackle content will include original sports docuseries, scripted series, feature films and unscripted programming aimed to both “entertain” and “empower” its viewers.
Earlier this month, Crackle also announced the launch of their Sounds of Summer Channel, which will target pop, rock and R&B fans with music docs and concert films from top recording artists, such as Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Tom Petty and Liam Gallagher. The channel launches on July 1.
