Skinny Bundle Live Streamer Frndly TV Launches Channel Store Featuring 4 Low-Cost Streaming Services

Frndly will allow customers to add on four on-demand streaming service and will provide one-week free trials and bundling options.

The beauty of streaming is the flexibility that it offers consumers. No longer are they beholden to contracts and high-priced packages. One of the leaders in providing low-cost entertainment streaming is Frndly TV, which offers a limited number of family-friendly channels for as little as $7.99 per month. However, Frndly has recently been expanding its offerings to provide its users with even more options and flexibility. Earlier this month, Frndly began offering select local channels, and on Wednesday, the company announced that it was launching a channel store that would allow customers to sign up for a handful of subscription streaming services that align with the live TV streaming service’s most popular channels.

Key Details:

  • The skinny bundle live TV streamer will launch a channel store allowing subscribers to add services to their plans to provide additional streaming options.
  • All of the platforms available fit into Frndly’s low-cost, family-friendly approach to streaming.
  • Frndly will provide seven-day free trials for all four services and three of them can be bundled together for additional savings.

Frndly TV prides itself on offering a selection of some of cable’s most popular entertainment channels at a price that can only be described as “friendly.” The service provides access to cablers like the Hallmark Channel, Lifetime, A&E, History, Great American Family, and more. As announced on Wednesday, the streamer will also allow subscribers to sign up for subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) services as well. Frndly has long allowed customers to sign up for Hallmark Movies Now through the platform, but now, they can also add Lifetime Movie Club, A&E Crime Central, History Vault, and Great American Pure Flix to their streaming package as well.

These streamers will be available in a channel store similar to what is available on Prime Video, Apple TV, and YouTube TV’s Primetime Channels. Frndly subscribers will be able to add on these streamers to provide a more well-rounded viewing experience.

“By making these SVOD services available to our subscribers in one central location, we are further serving our customers with more options for their enjoyment — and providing these services with a national distribution outlet that makes their programming available to millions of potential viewers,” Frndly TV co-founder and chief programming officer Michael McKenna said. “While there is fragmentation and unbundling throughout the pay TV industry, we are very pleased to add these great offerings to Frndly TV and bring them together under one roof with the easiest user experience possible, and the convenience of a single billing account.”

Frndly TV

Frndly TV is a live TV streaming service with over 40 channels for $7.99/month. Each plan is designed to provide a skinny bundle of family-friendly channels at a reasonable price. The service will appeal most to fans of Hallmark channels. It does not offer news, sports, or local channels.

Frndly TV offers three plans — on 1 device in SD with their “Basic” ($7.99) plan, on 2 devices in HD with their “Classic” ($9.99) plan, and 4 devices in HD on their “Premium” ($11.99) plan.

How Much Will Frndly TV’s Streaming Service Add-Ons Cost?

The prices for each of the SVOD services that Frndly will begin offering to its customers will be in line with their standard prices, but the benefit of signing up through Frndly’s channel store is that they will all be a part of a single bill and account. Additionally, each service comes with a seven-day free trial.

A&E Crime Central, History Vault, and Lifetime Movie Club all cost $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year individually, but Frndly will be offering a bundle for all three for just $9.99.

While not a part of the bundling option, Great American Pure Flix will be available to add on for $8.99 monthly or $79.99 annually.

“Today’s TV consumer wants choice in price and programming — choice that is easy to find and access in one place and the convenience of one billing account. As a leading vMVPD, it’s our job to give people the options they want and make both discovering and using those options easier than ever,” McKenna said. “With the launch of the Frndly TV Channel store, we are fast becoming the central hub for the independently owned streamers.”

  • A&E Crime Central

A&E Crime Central is a streaming service that brings you the best of A&E’s true crime documentaries and series including “60 Days In,” “After the First 48,” “Girl in the Box,” and more. Stream over 1,500 commercial-free videos anytime, on your favorite device. New videos are added every week.

  • HISTORY Vault

HISTORY Vault is a streaming service from The HISTORY Channel that delivers some of the cable channel’s best-known series and documentaries. It is a separate paid service than the free HISTORY app and gives you access to content you don’t normally see on the HISTORY Channel prime-time lineup.

This includes long-form documentaries and docu-series such as “America: The Story of Us,” “Ancient Discoveries,” and “Mysteries of the Bible.”

The subscription is $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year and you get access to the entire library and it’s ad-free.

  • Lifetime Movie Club

Lifetime Movie Club is an extension of the Lifetime channel—an ad-free streaming service that gives you new and classic Lifetime movies, and exclusive premieres. So if you didn’t catch titles when they aired on Lifetime or LMN, such as “Nightmare PTA Moms,” “Jodi Arias: Dirty Little Secrets,” “Harry & Meghan: Becoming Royal,” or “The Pregnancy Pact”—they can be found here.

The service launched the service in 2016, in time for Lifetime Movies’ 25th anniversary. You can now watch over 2,000 movies, with new titles being added weekly (usually every Friday).

With an active subscription, you can stream the Lifetime Movie Club app on an unlimited number of devices.

  • Great American Pure Flix

Great American Pure Flix provides access to thousands of “clean” faith and family-friendly movies, original series, documentaries, and more. Content ranges from romance, adventure, comedy, and even kid-friendly content.

A monthly subscription plan is $9.99 / month with a discount available for annual plans.

The service was founded as “Pure Flix” in 2005 by three friends, Michael Scott, David A.R. White, and Russell Wolfe. The religious trio launched a theatrical company and later on began distributing their early productions through churches, limited theatrical releases, or direct-to-DVD retail sales. In 2014, the blockbuster release of “God’s Not Dead” sparked a Christian entertainment movement and the new movie franchise allowed the company to launch a streaming platform in 2015.

The service was rebranded Great American Pure Flix in 2023.
