‘Smash’ Comes to Peacock, ‘Fire Country’ Heading to Netflix, ‘Loot’ Renewed, More
“Loot” Renewed at Apple TV+
Apple TV+’s “Loot” is in the money: the comedy series, starring and executive produced by Maya Rudolph, has been renewed for a third season at the streamer.
Created by Alan Yang and Matt Hubbard, “Loot” stars Rudolph as Molly Wells, who, after divorcing her tech billionaire husband (Adam Scott) after 20 years, must figure out what to do with her $87 billion settlement and turns her attention to running the charitable foundation she forgot she started to connect with the real world.

The series also stars Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, Nat Faxon, Ron Funches, Joel Kim Booster, Meagen Fay, and Stephanie Styles, with Season 2 guest stars including O-T Fagbenle, Benjamin Bratt, Ana Gasteyer, Hayley Magnus, John Lutz, Pam Murphy, Jim Rash, and Allan Harvey among the guest stars in Season 2.
The second season of “Loot” debuted this past April and wrapped on May 29. A Season 3 premiere date will be announced later.
NBC’s “Smash” Is Now Available on Peacock
A musical adaptation of the Emmy-winning musical drama series “Smash” is on its way to Broadway in the spring, but NBC wants to first make sure you’re up-to-date on the business of show business.
Peacock has made both seasons of the fan-favorite series, which premiered in 2012, available available to stream as of Monday. Created by playwright Theresa Rebeck with original music from legendary composing duo Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, “Smash” centers on Broadway creators and creatives as they “balance their often chaotic personal life with the all-consuming demands of life in the theatre.”

The 32-episode series featured a large cast of stage and screen actors including Debra Messing, Katharine McPhee, Megan Hilty, Christian Borle, Jaime Cepero, Will Chase, Jake Davenport, Jennifer Hudson, Anjelica Huston, Raza Jaffrey, Brian d’Arcy James, Jeremy Jordon, Andy Mientus, Leslie Odom Jr., Krysta Rodriguez, Uma Thurman, and more.
Paramount+ Announces Premiere Cast and Premiere Date for “RuPaul’s Drag Race Global All Stars”
Racers, start your engines! Paramount+ has announced the cast and premiere date for the all-new “RuPaul's Drag Race” spinoff competition series “RuPaul’s Drag Race Global All Stars.”
The new iteration will feature 12 fan-favorite queens from around the world as they represent their countries and compete for the title of “Queen of the Mothertucking World,” a grand prize of $200,000, and a spot in the Drag Race Hall of Fame.

RuPaul Charles will lead the panel of judges, alongside resident judge Michelle Visage and choreographer Jamal Sims, as well as rotating stars from across the international franchise.
“RuPaul’s Drag Race Global All Stars” will begin streaming exclusively on Paramount+ on Friday, August 16 with two all-new episodes.
CBS’ “Fire Country” Season 1 Will Come to Netflix
CBS Studios has lit the spark and struck a one-year promotional deal to bring the first season of CBS’s “Fire Country” to Netflix.
Beginning, Thursday, Aug. 1, the popular drama will be available to watch on both Netflix and Paramount+ to give the series additional exposure ahead of its Friday, Oct. 18 Season 3 premiere on the cabler. CBS has done similar in the past with its supernatural drama series “Evil” and its sitcom “The Unicorn” ahead of both series’ second seasons.
Co-created by Max Thieriot, Tony Phelan, and Joan Rater, “Fire Country” stars Thierot as Bode Donovan, a young convict seeking rehabilitation, redemption, and a shortened prison sentence by joining a prison release firefighting program in his Northern California hometown.

The series also stars Billy Burke, Kevin Alejandro, Diane Farr, Stephanie Arcila, Jordan Calloway, Jules Latimer, and more. The first two seasons of “Fire Country” are currently available on Paramount+.
New Team USA FAST TV Channel Launched
Just over a week before the start of the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games, NBCUniversal and FAST Studios are creating a whole new way to keep track of the athletes and the action. The studios have announced a partnership with the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) to launch Team USA TV, a free ad-supported (FAST) TV channel showcasing the stories of Team USA athletes and their journey to represent Team USA at the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The new FAST channel will offer fans at home the chance to hear directly from the athletes at the game, with 24/7 programming featuring behind-the-scenes access, up-to-date news, and hours of archival footage.
Team USA is available now through Pluto TV, Roku Channel, VIZIO WatchFree+, Xumo Play, and LG Channels, and will also launch soon on Peacock.
Crunchyroll Adds 20 Sports Anime to Ad-Supported Library
Crunchyroll is also getting into Paris 2024 fever, and whether you’re into water polo, soccer, or lifting, there’s something new for you.
As of Tuesday, July 16, the anime streamer has added 20 complete fan-favorite sports-related titles to its ad-supported library. The titles had all previously been a part of the service’s paid membership plans, but are now available to stream for a limited time for everyone. The sports-focused titles include “HAIKYU!!,” “BLUE LOCK,” “Run with the Wind,” and more.
The new titles will be available for a limited time through Aug. 15 and are available to stream for free with ads on Crunchyroll without a paid membership plan.
