Hulu announced this morning that they had added two new OTT channels — CBSN and ABC News Live to their Hulu Live TV service.
The channels from CBS and ABC are the network’s attempt to reach cord cutters on new platforms. While consumers could have already watched these channels for free directly on CBSNews.com, ABCNews.com, and their respective apps — this now brings them to the unified Hulu interface.
The service already offers CNN, Fox News, and MSNBC — and added Cheddar — another live daily news station targeting cord cutters in April.
ABC News Live which launched in May offers 24/7 programming including breaking news and event coverage. The channel does include commercials, but does promote ABC programming.
CBSN which launched in 2014 offers live news coverage and long-form documentaries. They’ve also launched a live morning show, CBSN AM, which airs daily from 7-8am ET.
