Xfinity Announces ‘Watchathon Week’ With Free Showtime, Hulu Originals, & More on Xfinity X1, Flex, & Stream

Fern Siegel

Comcast’s Xfinity Watchathon Week — May 11-17 — will stream a variety of hit shows and movies.

Each day has a theme, such as “Wild, Wild Wednesday” or “Throwback Thursday.” Customers can tune into the Xfinity Watchathon Week Channel on X1 and see free programming available via Xfinity platforms, which also includes Flex and the Xfinity Stream app.

The channel can be accessed within the guide on channel one.

The content is eclectic. The full series and seasons for Hulu’s “Castle Rock,” “Little Fires Everywhere” and “High Fidelity” and Showtime’s “Billions are among the titles. Episodes of Starz’s “Outlander” and “Hightown” are also included.

X1 customers can view all shows during the event by saying “Watchathon” into the Xfinity Voice Remote.
Since the shelter-at-home orders, Rebecca Heap, SVP, video and entertainment, Comcast, noted a 50 percent increase in Xfinity On Demand viewing across genres of programming. But she cites other trends, “like a more than double-digit growth for discovery-related voice commands such as ‘what to watch’ and ‘surprise me.’”

More than 10,000 TV series and movies are available for free at Xfinity from 70-plus networks and streaming services, including Acorn TV, A&E, AFRO, Aspire TV, Bravo, Bluprint, Disney Channel, Disney Junior, Cine Mexicano, DOGTV, EPIX, FOX, HBO, HISTORY Vault, Hitz, Lifetime, Lifetime Movie Club, NBC, Nick Jr., MTV, National Geographic, Pantaya, PlayKids, REVOLT, TBS and USA Network.

Hulu is now available to X1 and Flex customers everywhere with a Hulu subscription. Additionally, Xfinity customers can also watch a free, early preview of Peacock.
