Amazon Music Joins Prime Video on Xfinity X1 & Xfinity Flex Devices

Jason Gurwin

Over the past year, Comcast has turned their X1 set-top box into less of a cable box and more of a fully integrated streaming device — and that continues. Comcast announced this morning that Amazon Music will be coming to their Xfinity X1 and Xfinity Flex devices. Rolling out over the next few weeks, Amazon Music joins Pandora and iHeartRadio as among the music options on the platform.

Xfinity X1 and Flex customers can just say “Amazon Music” into their voice remote to easily browse, discover and listen to millions of songs and thousands of playlists and stations. With Amazon Music, Prime members have access to more than two million curated songs and thousands of playlists and stations at no additional cost to their membership, and access to more than 50 million songs and thousands of playlists and stations with Amazon Music Unlimited, the premium subscription tier.

The announcement comes just months after Comcast added Amazon Prime Video to their X1 devices. Joining the likes of Netflix and YouTube, Comcast customers can stream Prime Video favorites like Jack Ryan and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel on their set-top box. Earlier this month, Comcast also added the ability to stream Pluto TV — joining tubi and Xumo, as free ad-supported streaming options on X1 and Flex.
