The hunt is on! Can you stream ‘Kraven the Hunter’ on Netflix now?
Sony’s latest movie set in the Spider-Man universe is headed to theaters this weekend.
Another one of Spider-Man’s greatest adversaries is coming to the big screen in a movie of his own. “Kraven the Hunter” makes its theatrical premiere on Friday, Dec. 13, but what about streaming? We’ll take you through when we think you’ll be able to watch the movie on-demand at home below.
Key Details:
- Nearly 70% of audiences who have seen “Kraven” so far have enjoyed it.
- As a Sony movie, “Kraven” will debut on Netflix first, then go to a Disney streamer.
- History suggests “Kraven” may not arrive on Netflix for a while, despite bad reviews.

“Kraven the Hunter” follows the story of Sergei Kravinoff, a big-game hunter who also knows how important the balance of nature is to the planet. Sergei has a more-than-complex relationship with his father, which starts him on a path of revenge that motivates him to become the greatest hunter on the planet.
The film stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson who is no stranger to superhero movies. Having played the title character in the “Kick-Ass” franchise, he previously played Marvel super-sibling Pietro Maximov — a.k.a. Quicksilver — in “Avengers: Age of Ultron.” He is joined in the film by the MCU’s Zeus from “Thor: Love and Thunder” Russell Crowe, Academy Award winner Ariana DeBose, Fred Hechinger, Alessandro Nivola, Christopher Abbott, Murat Seven, and Yuri Kolokolnikov.
Like most Sony-produced movies set in the Spider-Man universe that don’t actually feature everybody’s favorite web-slinger, “Kraven the Hunter” has been less-than-warmly received by critics. It currently sports a 14% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but audiences have been far kinder. Sixty-nine percent of viewers who have caught a preview screening have given the film their seal of approval.
It was revealed this week that this film will wrap up Sony’s attempt to create an extended universe featuring Peter Parker’s Rogues Gallery. So while there won’t be a “Kraven the Hunter 2,” you should be able to stream this film in the relatively near future.
When can you stream ‘Kraven the Hunter’ on Netflix?
As mentioned, “Kraven the Hunter” is being distributed by Sony in the United States. That means that when Sony decides it’s made all it can from the film in theaters, and on premium video-on-demand (PVOD) platforms like Prime Video, it will go to Netflix for 18 months before moving to a Disney streaming service — most likely Disney+.
Even with the lack of critical success for Sony Spider-verse movies, they tend to take a long trip through theaters and PVOD services. “Madame Web” didn’t come to streaming until 90 days after its theatrical release, and “Morbius” spent almost 160 days in theaters. “Venom: The Last Dance” doesn’t have a release date on Netflix yet, but it’s only been in theaters for fewer than 60 days.
I think “Kraven” will follow a path similar to that of “Madame Web,” and come to streaming in around 91 days. If that prediction comes to pass, it means the movie will be ready to stream on Netflix as of Friday, March 14, a great addition to a weekend Spider-verse marathon. Should “Kraven” make it to Netflix on that date, it will arrive on Disney+ sometime in September 2026.
