Comcast to Offer First-Ever Netflix, Apple TV+, Peacock Bundle for Just $15

Comcast is making it easier to save with two different ways to bundle some of the most popular streamers.

Last week, Comcast CEO Brian Roberts teased a forthcoming bundle that will offer a “vastly reduced price” to a subscription that includes Apple TV+, Netflix, and Peacock. At the time the only other details that he confirmed were that it would be available exclusively for Xfinity customers and that it would be known as StreamSaver. On Tuesday, while speaking at the JP Morgan Global Technology, Media and Communications Conference, Comcast’s president and CEO of Comcast Cable Dave Watson provided further information on the offer, including the pricing and availability details.

Key Details:

  • Comcast will bundle together Peacock, Netflix, and Apple TV+ for Xfinity broadband, cable, and mobile customers.
  • The deal will start at $15 and offer two different subscription options.
  • Customers can also combine the bundle with Comcast’s skinny-bundle live TV streamer NOW TV.

Speaking with J.P. Morgan’s Sebastiano Petti, Watson revealed that there would be two different ways that Xfinity customers are able to subscribe to the bundle. The first is open to anyone who is signed up for Xfinity broadband, cable, or mobile and it will allow them to receive an ad-supported bundle of the three services for just $15 per month. Currently, those services run $9.99 for Apple TV+, $6.99 for Netflix’s Standard with Ads plan, and $5.99 for Peacock Premium. So customers who opt for the bundle will receive nearly $8 off per month. That results in an over 30% savings monthly and nearly $100 annually.

Apple TV+ currently does not offer an ad-supported tier to its service, although rumors of that eventuality have been around for years. While Watson did not specifically say, unless the launch of StreamSaver occurs after Apple makes an official announcement of an ad tier, presumably subscribers will get the ad-free version of Apple TV+ for the time being.

“I think it opens up possibilities (for future bundles),” Watson said when asked about the potential for StreamSaver to eventually include other popular streaming services.

The other way that Comcast customers can save with StreamSaver is by combining the bundle with the company’s low-priced live TV streaming service NOW TV for $30 monthly. The live streamer, which launched just over one year ago, runs just $20 monthly, so by adding the Peacock, Netflix, and Apple TV+ package, customers will be saving nearly $13 monthly on top of the skinny bundle savings that NOW TV already offers.

In addition to all of the content found on Apple TV+, Netflix, and Peacock, the NOW StreamSaver bundle also provides access to more than 40 live popular channels including AMC, A&E, Hallmark, History Channel, Lifetime, and WE tv, as well as more than two dozen free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channels like AccuWeather, NBC News, TODAY All Day, Xumo Movies, and more.

“StreamSaver is a homerun for consumers who want top-tier entertainment and live sports, and for our world-class partners Peacock, Netflix and Apple who benefit from the reach and depth of our entertainment platforms and Xfinity’s marketing engine,” Watson said in a press release following the conference announcement. “StreamSaver also reinforces the value of our broadband products, offering customers new ways to save money on streaming entertainment via the nation’s best and most reliable network in and out of the home.”

The StreamSaver bundles are open to both current and new Xfinity subscribers and customers who already subscribe to one or more of the streaming services are still able to sign up for one of the StreamSaver bundles. They can manage their account and pick the bundle that is best for them at Xfinity.com.

According to all of the press notes, StreamSaver only applies to the ad-supported versions of Netflix and Peacock. The Streamable has reached out to NBCUniversal to see if Xfinity customers will have the option to pay the difference in order to upgrade to ad-free versions of those streamers, but as of publication time, we have not received a response. In the early years of Peacock, the ad-supported version of the service was made available to Xfinity customers for free, however, they could opt to pay the difference in order to use the service commercial-free. Therefore, they were still being afforded the discount that was part of their plan, but they had the additional option to stream the way that they most wanted.

NOW TV

NOW TV is a live TV streaming service exclusively available to Xfinity Internet customers that comes with over 40 channels for $20/month. The “skinny bundle” is some of the more popular channels (like A&E, Discovery Channel, HGTV, TLC) at an easy-to-afford price and will appeal most to fans of NBC & lifestyle channels. It does not offer news, sports, or local channels, but you get access to NBC and some live sports through Peacock which NOW TV users get for free.
