Discovery has announced the Canadian launch of discovery+ on Tuesday, October 19. Subscribers will get access to more than 200 exclusive, original series across multiple genres, including True Crime, Home, Relationships, Food, Paranormal, Nature, and more.
Viewers will be able to choose from 60,000 episodes of current and classic shows from the Discovery portfolio of networks, including HGTV, Food Network, TLC, Investigation Discovery, OWN, Travel Channel, Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, and Magnolia Network, along with the largest streaming collection of natural history content from the BBC.
Canadian viewers will have access to new series and franchises like Fixer Upper: Welcome Home, 90 Day: The Single Life and Naked and Afraid Of Love, along with new discovery+ originals including Unseamly: The Investigation of Peter Nygard, No Responders Left Behind, Bobby and Giada in Italy, Queen of Meth and Love in Paradise. In addition, more than 1,000 episodes of Discovery’s most popular series will be subtitled in French at launch.
Discovery+ shows highlight stars like the Irwins, Jonathan and Drew Scott, Chip and Joanna Gaines, Bobby Flay, Ree Drummond, Guy Fieri, Giada De Laurentiis, and many others.
Discovery+ will be priced at $4.99 CAN per month, with an ad-free version available for $6.99 CAN per month. Each account will include up to five user profiles and four concurrent streams. At launch, discovery+ will be available in Canada on Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Google Chromecast, Roku, Android TV, iPhone/iPad, Android Phone/Tablet, and Samsung Smart TV (2017 and newer).

Like its American counterpart, the Canadian version of discovery+ will not include live streams of Discovery-owned channels.
The discovery+ app will bring its strong search capability to Canada, just as it has in the US, which includes features to allow subscribers to quickly and easily find what they want to watch as well as the ability to deep dive into a wide variety of content that can be filtered by new or trending topic areas. User profiles allow multiple viewers in the same household to separately categorize their content and keep track of what they are watching on an ongoing basis.
discovery+ is a video streaming service that offers more than 70,000 episodes of 2,500+ current and classic shows from several popular TV brands including Discovery, Investigation Discovery, HGTV, TLC, Food Network, A&E, Lifetime y History.
The service primarily focuses on non-fiction programming or “reality” TV shows.
