However, according to the report, the 2015 model (foster) is still showing as only supporting Android Oreo 8. The biggest enhancement in Android Pie 9 for Android TV is the ability to auto-fill passwords when you install an app that you’ve set-up on another device.
The NVIDIA SHIELD is one of the most updated Android devices, which had it’s 20th software upgrade in September 2018 since it launched 4 years ago. The NVIDIA SHIELD was updated to Android Oreo (8.0) back in June of 2018.
Many like the device for its ease of extensibility with external storage, as well as the support to use it as a Plex hub without the need of a separate computer. The Android TV device is already one of the favorite media streaming player’s by cord-cutters, but has been using the same Tegra X1 chip since 2015. There have been rumors of an updated model coming soon.

The 2015 model (foster) is still on 8.0 though. But, as it’s almost the same hardware, it should also be available with 9 pretty soon. pic.twitter.com/zUZwdC5mXq
